headers?

I was just wondering if anyone has put longtube headers on their car and if it gave them anymore horsepower or just made more noise? My buddy with a GTO just put them on and he says he feels it pull harder so I'm just wondering if they are worth the money?

Longtubes will definetely give you a noticable gain in power. I have a set of bbk shortys and even with shortys...i can tell a pretty decent gain

IMO it depends on what other mods you have, but I believe long tubes to be more for race then shorties..
Long tubes will usually see hp gains in the higher rpm range..shorties can have better low end tq...

Re: headers?

Lots of people have, 25-35+ HP gains are typical from what I understand.

Edit - scratch that, thought I was in the 5.0 section

Re: headers?

just put Long tubes on the Mach 1 , what a difference
pulls very strong up top, and the low end torque is night and day

Good to hear. What brand did you go with? Was there any fitment issues?

I got kooks longtubes on my 2010..... Fit great and sound amazing! For power, I added cams, intake, cold air and throttlebody to and picked up right at 60rwhp. Big increase at the top end!

Re: headers?

Remember this. If you go with Shorty headers you still can have a turbo set up with out having to switch out the LT's later.

Re: headers?

The LTs should give you a noticeable gain when paired up with the blower.
