Tinting or painting tail lights/fog loghts.

I want to darken my tail lights and fog lights. Any suggestions on how to get it done?

Did my entire car (lights, grille, rims) with 3 cans of lens tint, looks clean, done in 4 days, and cheap! I only did 2 coats and its 100% legal.

I used to not care but getting pulled over at $116 each time was getting expensive. Then I had to change my perspective lol

U can mix and match blackout and smoked. I have all blackout except the headlights they are smoked. Don't know what percentage tint they are though. They are a lil bit of a pain to put on but they are plyable and u can get them on pretty evenly.

Not really. Tranny is out for clutch and fly wheel. Also drive shaft. After that cams will go in. Builder/tuner is really busy. They just finished up a buddy's 03 Cibra. It made 720whp before a 250 shot.

Funny, I just left Killeen to come to El Paso. My unit moved to Bliss.

Bottom line in Texas that any covering on the outside of the lighting is it's illegal. It must come pre tinted and DOT approved. With that being said we don't mess with it around here. Other stuff for us to worry about, if you lived here I'm sure you are aware. Also TX inspections this year are real strict on tinted tails.
If you try the distance argument you are probably right because mine meet distance requirements but are still not going to pass since they were altered from DOT stock approved standard.

Great info. Yes I live in Killeen. Have since 99. Stationed in Hood the whole time.

Anyway if they will not pass inspection no matter what then how are you getting passed? Swapping them out for inspection? Just going to right place? Flashing the badge? Sorry couldn't resist.

I am also aware that ya you guys have more to worry about then every car with tinted tails. I have had mine tinted basically since I got it no issues. But I will need a vehicle inspection next year.

I never thought of doing this to my car cuz I thought spraying was the only way... But I'm now convinced to get these, I have a race red and I always complained how little contrast there is in the rear... I know stangmods have these but AM also has them, but which is higher quality? Are these made by 3M? Price is not an issue for me... I want what's better and won't leave a nasty residue if I ever have to remove

I don't know about the ones from AM but the package from stangmods is a thick 3M brand tint. It would look good with the race red!

I agree on Race Red will look very sharp. Plus adding the black out decklid will even make it look sharper.

I second that notion! I wish I could blackout all my lenses but the cops in Corpus have nothing better to then break my ball over a tint violation. :**** 'em:

That sucks. As KPD above said they don't mess with us to much about it.

Oh found a pic of mu car when it was clean of the rear. Before the WELDS and GT500 wing.

Some cops will say you lose the reflective value which makes them illegal. Just depends on if they want to be a butt.
