Boss 302 with 7k at local dealership!

My local dealer has a Orange Boss 302 on the showroom floor and he's asking 43k for it. It's used with 7k mile on it. It's been on the floor for about 2 weeks, and I'm tempted to pull the plug but I think they asking way to much for basically a "demo" car that will lose 20% as soon as I drive off the lot.

I'm asking you guys, is the 43k they are asking correct, or should I go in and try and deal???

Best case for me would be getting the car at 40k out the door, and they give me 21-22 for my '10 GT premium. (I owe 17k, paid 28k for it in May of 09, and have 16k miles on it)

I figure I would be lucky to get 20 for my car, eventhough its a garage queen with a few basic mods.

I want to wait for the 2013 GT 500m but this Boss is pretty nice!

Thoughts???

Thanks all..

Ben

43k is almost the new price.. I'd treat the 7k miles like any other used car. Take the 20% off, demo just means it's had any number of hands ripping on it already. If the roles were reversed milage wise they would treat you the same way. IMO

I wouldnt pay sticker for the car if its used, I dont think you want to either its just an opportunity you have that you are considering~ I would pass unless the deal is MUCH better than pretty much sticker.

WOW! I would not pay that price. We have on on the lot here brand new they are asking 43.5K for. If you was to go in you could most likely get it for 41K. They have sold 3 or 4 so far.

Wait if it's a demo, or a Dealer car it shouldn't have been titled. So they can technically say it's new. But it seems like they are asking a bit much. I'd say anywhere between 5000 to $8600 off sticker is reasonable. See if they will throw in an ESP or something. I'd aim for an OTD of 16 high to 18 max.

Basically your going to owe the same amount after trade that should work out in both parties favor.

Your right, technically. The fact is that any car with 7k miles is not new, especially being the cars have not been out that long. If his car had 7k untitled miles they wouldn't treat it as new by any stretch. If they came off 5-8k that would be fair for sure.

You lost me when you said 16 to 18 max???? What do you mean, should I ask for 16 to 18 on my car and see if they will take 5000-8600 off of thier asking price? If that's what you are saying, sounds like a fair deal all the way around...

Re: Boss 302 with 7k at local dealership!

You are going to pay a premium of sorts for any Boss you buy right now. Buy it if you want, or wait until they have been out for a bit longer and become more affordable, which is my plan....

I wouldnt mind having a Boss 302 LS but I wont dare pay the premium... they will come down just like everything else, look at the 2000 cobra R, more limited and the prices are much lower than the 50k new

Way too much money, especially when you consider what kind of car you're talking about. I'm with the above posters, the car should be something more like $36000 (give or take a bit) imo.

Agreed you can build your own 302 boss brand new and it will be around 43000-45000 give and take the options, so yea I think 38,500 is a good price for the one your looking at

Basically they give you 20 something for yours, take 5 to 8600 off their asking price. Your walking out at about what you owe on your car currently. So your going to owe 16000 to 18,000.

Or what you just said above. The numbers work that way to. Your current car should retail around 24k to 26k. Which at 20,000 gives them more profit than they made selling the boss at full sticker.
