Re: Dyno numbers are here!!

Damn, that's really good for a mail-order tune. That would be like 445-465ish on a DynoJet I think.

Any chance you know what you were putting down before your mods? Just curious.

I agree! I put down more than steeda's car did with this set up can u say I got 5 on it!lol still have headers, x pipe , and CDT. I'm expecting in the range of 80 to 100whp gain with all mods and CDT. Will be doing some data logging so I can send steeda that info to upgrade my tune

Very nice gains! Are you expecting to gain some torque with your next mods? That's the one thing I always loved about my push rod 5.0's 50-60 more torque then HP. I will be interested to see how your numbers change as your build progresses. Good stuff!!

Re: Dyno numbers are here!!

Nice numbers. But for a mustang dyno they seem high on the HP side. WTQ seems about right. Also they did do a 5th gear pull correct?

You should gain about 25whp with the headers and O/R x pipe.

Now once get them on its time for some 1/4 miles slips.

Great numbers and you will see even more with the headers and CDT. Exactly what I think I will do. I just can't justify a S/C when all I do is street drive my pony on weekends and once or twice during the week. And this puts down enough HP to make people think twice when they pull up next to you. The 26th I'm sure can't get here soon enough. lol

Any future plans for the shifter and driveshaft or any other mods?

Nice, Probably follow what you have done, some things will be different. Currently I have only done appearance mods: New wheels (Black Brembo package wheels), 3D500 Spoiler, 1/4 panel and rear louvers (will paint the rear louver to match stock paint), painted stripes (hood), shift knob, rear caliper covers.

When I get home I'll do the following:

40 Series Flowmasters
Gears 3.73
Lowering Springs (Ford Racing) (front calipers will painted at this time)
MGW shifter (although I'm waiting to hear about it from someone from ME that as one on a 2012)

Probably Boss Intake, Headers, X-pipe,

There is no need to go to 7400 if u look at my dyno it's makin peak before 7400 looks like about 7000 to 7200. No didn't check a/f ratio should have but didn't think about it I was in a hurry.

Re: Dyno numbers are here!!

It isn't about stopping where it makes peak power. You have to go past peak also so when shift don't fall out power band.

My car made peak power at 7200rpm's but carried that power all way out to 7800rpm's. Hence why I shift at 7800.

7800 rpm shifts
1-2: rpm in next gear 5179 drop: 2621
2-3: rpm in next gear 5425 drop: 2375
3-4: rpm in next gear 6092 drop: 1708
4-5: rpm in next gear 5909 drop: 1891
5-6: rpm in next gear 5070 drop: 2730

7k rpm shifts
1-2: rpm in next gear 4648 drop: 2352
2-3: rpm in next gear 4868 drop: 2132
3-4: rpm in next gear 5467 drop: 1533
4-5: rpm in next gear 5303 drop: 1697
5-6: rpm in next gear 4550 drop: 2450

So how the lower shift points drop you out the power band.

Did you use a calculator for that? If so, send me a link. I've been wanting to figure those numbers out for my car (running 3.55:1 gears).

Re: Dyno numbers are here!!

tranny ratio's
1st 3.66
2nd 2.43
3rd 1.69
4th 1.32
5th 1.00
6th 0.65

new ratio / old ratio = multiplier for percent of change.

Example: 2.43/3.66 = 0.66393

Multiply that by your shift point RPM and that's your rpm at the moment of the shift. Subtract that number from the shift rpm for the rpm difference.

Example: 0.66393 x 7000 = 4647.5 rpm after the shift. 7000 - 4648 = 2352 rpm drop.

Simple. Make Sense?

Regardless of axle ratio the percentage of drop will be the same since it is determined by the transmission ratios.

Thanks for pointing this out I've had to explain to a few people why you want to rev past peak power and never ha the patience to detail it like you did lol.
