Friend Wants to Purchase Mustang - Advice

I have a friend who really likes my new Mustang GT Vert. However, he doesn't like the vert part of it. So, he is looking for a hard top.

He wants a six speed with power and isn't opposed to buying a used GT500 or Roush 427.

His budget is about 35Kish.

What would you suggest for my power hungry friend?

Thanks for any suggestions. Should he go with a new GT and slowly mod it, or buy a slightly used GT500 or Roush or Saleen?

I don't think he could get into a Boss for that price, but perhaps a slightly used one could be found in the mid to high 30s?

I know it is all personal preference, but ideas are a place to start.

IMO get a base 5.0 w/ brembo and sync package! Every thing else u can get cheaper and better after market to ur preference! Make it ur custom build. And for 3400$ to 4000$ u can be full bolt on CDT. Pushing about 520 to 545 on the crank which would be about 460 to 485 whp. IMO save the money and put it in the motor! With potential to run 11 flat in the 1/4 mile maybe a lil faster

For 35k id pick up a slightly used 2011 or 2012 5.0 with the brembo package, (I love the interior upgrade package too) for around 28k-32k and spend the remainder at american muscle lol.

Re: Friend Wants to Purchase Mustang - Advice

For $32595 you can have a base GT with the Brembo Package and a 3.73:1 rear end. As long as he doesn't care about leather or SYNC, this is probably the way to go. If he could find someone to give him an x-plan pin, he could probably do this for about 29-30k.

A 2012 GT Premium with the Brembo Package and 3.73 gears is $36595, could probably get that under $35k with an x-plan pin, if he can get one.

He can get better leather from katskinz.com custom color inserts exc. I got my brembo 300a spec with security package and 3.73's for 30 flat that's after tax, title, and licence. And it's only going to cost 3400$ to be full bolt on w/ CDT . I ordered my car from a ford dealer in new Orleans.

Yes he is correct. If u are going to tune ur mustang custom dyno tuning is the very best option. But u can also go the cheaper route and get a canned tune from steeda, bama, leathal, or Evo(performance). Feel free to PM me if u need any help

It's garaged for the winter. Working out a deal on a x-pipe and hope to order some suspension stuff early next year. If the tax man is nice, ill be getting wheels and sticky tires as well.

Nice! Think I'm going to purchase a JLT oil separator. Next week will be data logging to upgrade my tune, doing the separator , and finally my header and x pipe install.
