resonators

Couple if questions about resonators. What are they for? Do I really need them? How hard is it to remove them? I live in nc will it effect the emissions inspection? Do I need a kit or anything special to remove them and still have the car function correctly?

Re: resonators

they are there mainly t o dampen the sound. ANd a cat back will get rid of them. And will not effect emissions

Is there a way to cut them out without a catback system?
