16 psi Monster

Literally just got the call from the guy dynoing my 5.0. I told him I didn't want less than 700 rwhp. Well 12 runs later and 16psi it made 737 rwhp and 684 pounds of torque. Picks of the dyno sheet will be posted tomorrow alone with a few video links I had him take of the car being dynoed.

Wonder how long it's going to last until I have to rebuild? Hahaha

I'm not expecting it to. I plan on putting forged internals in it. But I guess I will have to wait and see lol

First off I would like to thank you for testing the waters of the durability of the 5.0 so all of us with stock internals can gauge where to stop pushing them to. Gonna be insane!

Oh yea I wanted no less that 700 rwhp so I told him to push it. And if it blows up it blows up lol. I have about 4800 in my Mustang Savings account lol. I add 800 a month to it so by time next spring rolls around I'll have a pretty penny saved incase is does go BOOM.

What kind of dyno did he run it on and you know they can play with the numbers to make what you want right? Just FYI, I had a buddy get told his car made 400 and then he dynoed it again someplace else and it was only 300 so you have to be careful, but with that being said, sounds like a beast either way LOL

It's a mustang Dyno. Very well known shop in my area. He tuned my 1995 to 650 rwhp to. He's a good buddy of mine

Re: 16 psi Monster

Snow sucks. Hence why I love TX. LOL..And above 16psi on a 2011 is an easy 700whp with a Roush. No need to play with numbers. On a 2010 and prior yes it would be still just another slow mustang.

Now we want pics dang it.

Re: 16 psi Monster

We should have a pool going as to what will blow first, the stock internals, or the ching chong trans (assuming you have the manual).

Lol I had tranny issues already. It's a new one maybe 500 km on it with a Spec Stage 3 clutch and new fly wheel. I'm thinkin it's gunna be the internals

Re: 16 psi Monster

I vote my internals let lose first with the new clutch and flywheel. Or my rear end.

I being hearing that the rear ends are pretty strong on these new 5.0s. I haven't done much research on them though

Buddy just broke an axle. He is only bolt ons. He also replaced his clutches cause when he took apart they wore pretty bad.

Same as the rest of the S197s I believe ... never heard of one breaking, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I think you're more likely to twist/snap your driveshaft than break the rear end.

Yeah, let me know if you hear of any good jobs for an IT Consultant/Systems Engineer. I think I'd love it in Texas.

Depends on what they did as far as correction. Also if it is a load bearing dyno or not.

Re: 16 psi Monster

That is CRAZY power...... I would never want that much. Hell I get squirrely with just the simple bolt ons I have which might put me at 435 (370) at the wheels. I would kill myself with 700+ HP

We're tuning mine right now. Made 565 on first run @ 5800. Running rich right now though. Next pull is to 7200. On a loaded mustang dyno but they can read boost here so I won't know wut I'm running.

Well guys, you don't need 16 psi to blow you're motor. Although we don't know how many psi I was running, I have a stage 2 procharger with a d1 and a 4.63 pulley. On last pull I hit 648 whp at only 6400 on a loaded mustang dyno and a rod shot through the block I'm still trying not to cry and I'm waiting for my wife to serve me papers. I already started the process of having a built 9.5:1 block started for me. Be careful out there though cuz with that pulley I dont think I could've been running more than 12psi. The engines cant handle too much. Air/fuel was dead on too. I'm sure this is gonna be a lengthy process but I'll keep ya informed.
