Interior Issues?

It's to throw this out there. I know some are having problems with mechanical issues.... But has anyone had or noticed any issues with their interior of the 2010 and up cars?

I've got a 2010 and I'm starting to notice my driver's interior door handle is starting to bulge where the hand hold to close the door is. I also have a "sticky" center console button. My buddy who has a 2011 roush stage 2, his interior trunk pieces are coming apart. Anyone else having similar issues?

Re: Interior Issues?

I have the same problem in my '11 with the "sticky" center console button. My '10 did the same thing ... Ford was never able to fix it. Thankfully I don't need to get in there much.

It seems worse in cool weather ... maybe the same people that designed it worked on the MT-82? (couldn't resist ... sorry)

Lmao!! Maybe. They maybe selling out to the lowest bidder to! I'm gonna try some WD-40 or PB blaster and see if it helps free it up

The button itself works fine but the mechanism underneath is what's sticking.... Same with yours?

Re: Interior Issues?

Coming out of the quality rubberized plastic and leather bound interior of the M3.... the entire interior of the Mustang bothers me. Next project is the wrap it all in CF as to at least get rid of the cheap hard plastic look.

I'm sure that would look nice! Or just leather wrap everything!

Re: Interior Issues?

Not really interior issues but the only thing I hate is when I pop the trunk. It makes the loudest thunking noise. First time i did it i thought something hit my car. Is mine the only one that does this?

That is a plus.... I don't really notice it as much but people still tell me mine smells new after two years! It probably helps that it was stored for a year when it was only three months old!

Re: Interior Issues?

Just when I think they made improvements. I will say the interior looks nicer on the 2010+ My largest issue with the 05-09's the carpet and leather is falling apart with 55,000 miles. Did they do away with the plastic seat lever on the back of the front seats on the '10+? If not just wait until it breaks off. Gotta sacrifice somewhere right?

Mine broke off on my 06, Ford replaced it under warranty.

I have the same issue with my '05. Covered the carpet with fitted weathertech mats and bought billet aluminum knobs for the seat lever. I was pissed when that snapped off.

I wasn't because it looked like a part that was designed to fail. They want 90 something for the part. Be thankful they did away with the circular vents cause mine don't stay up half the time.

Re: Interior Issues?

My only interior issue so far is the buttons on the steering wheel have started to rub off the black paint. At night you see the light shine through where it has rubbed off, this sucks the cars to new for that, my 08 didn't have that problem. You can tell which buttons I use the most, cruise and volume, haha. When I take it in for service next time I am hopping they will replace them under warranty, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

They should... Just remind them of the 3 year 36,000 bumper to bumper... I'm pretty sure the steering wheel fits in there somewhere!
