To everyone doing mods...

Hey guys just wanted to know if you guys are moding around the warranty.. I was looking I to getting a cai and a tuner (the bundle deal from AM) but I realized if I time it any other way than fords, my warranty would be voided. So I guess my question is did u guys juss say fu*k it and go ahead with the mods? Sucks cuz I extended mine for more $$. Foolish of me. Me ways that's all :]

Most extended warranties can be refunded on a pro rated basis...you should inquire. Personally, I decided to go with my car the way I want it without concern for warranty issues. I installed a blower, but if my power window fails...sure, I'll hit them up to replace that.

Yeah the reason I got the extended warranty was bc I just read alot of threads about people having trouble with their engine ESP with their oil burning to fast and what not. Still in debate hmm

I would inquire with Ford. I don't think putting on a CAI will void warranty. Re-flash maybe. Talk to your salesman or read you warranty paperwork.

Car won't run with a CAI if it's not tuned for it.

Roush sales a kit that claims not to need a tune on them now. But, most kits you buy for these cars advertise a tune is required.

Yes, that was part of an appearance pack. There is a CDC that is very similar, just without the fake gas cap.

The CAI and Tune packages really wake the car up. Worth every penny if you ask me. The way it drives with the tune is how I expected a mustang to run.

I will warn you though, once you start, it's almost impossible to stop!! Lol

Not the new GT's. Any CAI that doesn't require a tune is not worth having.

Really you will find that the cold air is a waste. A lot of serious racers are just running a K&N filter and a tune. Running same and better as those with a cold air.

The real power is in the tune. Save the money on the cold air.

As the extended warranty goes they will cancel it and give you a prorated amount back. Same as GAP insurance. I have did both before. Not to mention my wife does it for a living.
