Header question

If I do long tube headers what kinda issues will I run into connecting the current Borla catback I have to the headers? The catback has x-pipe(not off road) and just wondering what I will run into connection wise.I can do with or without cats. Not worried about that.Anybody know whats the best route and whats involved??Will I need more than just the LT's?Is there got to be bunch of cutting and welding to custom fit up to the LT's ?

You should have buy a x pipe. You would really have get under it and see if the LT's would connect up. More then likely you will need a x pipe to match LT's. Then the cat back you have with out the x pipe.

++ would defiantly buy an X to match the LT's and cat back before I paid to have the other mid pipe cut and welded IMO

Re: Header question

Maybe I will see if Borla has a off road X-pipe that will match up to my current borla catback.Just pull my X-pipe out.Wonder what the gains will be by doing away with cats? The current exhaust is giving me pretty happy gains so maybe just leave it all alone.Sure do not want it any louder. If off road gives me much power over current X I will strongly consider.

Re: Header question

Deleting the cats with an O/R X seems to gain about 15-25whp depending on the dyno used. That is also with a tune for it.

Re: Header question

The Borla x-pipe has to be removed/replaced. The mid-pipe for the long-tube headers, which can be catted or non-catted in x-pipe configuration at exit of mid-pipe, will connect to the Borla cat-back.

+1. As everyone else has said, you can keep the catback, but you will need to buy a new x-pipe for the LT headers (I would avoid cutting and welding the existing x-pipe). You should have some nice gains and a killer sound with this exhaust setup.

I think most vendors that make LTs offer an x pipe to go along with the headers.
