Re: Amsoil 15000 mile oil

It's one of, if not the, best oils out there. Only good for 15k miles if you use their filter ... normal filters wont last 15k miles.

You can order it for cheap if you sign up for their preferred customer program as well.

Re: Amsoil 15000 mile oil

It supposed to be really good stuff if not the best. But if you read the small print they still recommend you follow the manufactures maintanence schedule. so I would do the oil change no longer then 10,000 miles per Ford.

Re: Amsoil 15000 mile oil

I got my 2012 in August with 247 miles on it. Now it has 2,700. Trying to decide when to change the oil. The car says 60% life for oil. However looking at the build date on the door sill! my car was built in Feb 2011. So that means the oil in there now has been in there for one year. Isn't the Ford recommendation 10,000 miles or one year?

I guess it depends on who you talk to. But some people recommend doing the first oil change after the engine break in period (~1000 miles). Others say that these engines are broken in from factory and do not need an oil change til the first recommended interval. I personally changed my oil shortly after 1000 miles. If I were you, I would change the oil soon and then follow a specified interval...but that's just my opinion.

Re: Amsoil 15000 mile oil

Skyline247 I appreciate the input. Plan on ordering the oil and changing it after I bring the car to the dealer on Monday for the TSB on the front lower control arms. I plan to use 5W30 weight and an Amsoil filter.

Thanks.
