Just put on the 225/45r18. Great tire for snow and ice. Well for dry traction they are now summer tire but they stop the mustang

Yeah they are the smallest you can fit on the rim one I did want the smallest I can fit and two that's the only tire left I can buy in my town lol. The traction control makes the tires a lot better then they really are I mean it kicks in a lot but it never stops going and only straight

Ya if you actually get stuck it hurts more than it helps though. Don't get stuck! Lol

Yeah but its pretty hard to get stuck with these tires last season I had the stock all seasons and I got stuck everywhere but for going on previously driven on snow roads it works pretty well, no where close to a 4x4 but better then my 07 ram with all terrains in two wheel drive

---------- Post added at 08:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:43 AM ----------

And I have my good shovel in the big trunk these things have lol for big snow storms

There ya go! I didn't get mine out in the snow last year really cuz of those Pirelli summer tires but I just got a set of general gmax as-03 for the rear.. They are pretty aggressive looking so I hope they are at least better than the pirellis..

Re: Blizzaks WS70's Test

Good to know Blizzaks still put up good results

I'd like to know personally, what's the smallest wheels I can squeak over the Brembos in the front of my '12. preferably something ugly, cheap and cheerful, 16" ideally, since i've got a set of 4 Michelin Alpins in that size but, I don't hold high hopes since the steel wheels their on have the right bolt pattern but would need a 3" spacer to fit the front.

Some aftermarket 18s fit, the stock 18s do not. I don't think any 16" wheel would fit.

Re: Blizzaks WS70's Test

Good to know, I'll stop looking for the smaller sizes and try to find some aftermarket 18s that hit my price point (cheap) and sell the 16s and Alpins as a package. Worst case, if I get hit this year I can strap the 16s on the back and we're legal. They fit back there, I tried.

Re: Blizzaks WS70's Test

Wow, not even 17" Cobras. That narrows choices of wheel and tire to a few. 18" snows ain't too cheap either. Maybe I'll just park it in the winter and drive my awsome G10 Chevy Van with a Detroit Locker out back

Re: Blizzaks WS70's Test

Really, it's always about the tires, not the car. I used to rock Pirelli ice radials on all four on RWD cars and regularly drive away from 4 wheelers up and down the steep inclines where I live.

FWD just means you can make a ham-fisted mistake usually without fatal consequences. However, my last car was a Mazdaspeed 3 with a whack of bolt-ons and that thing would as surely try to kill me in bad weather as look at me, even on the best tires possible.

This car isn't trying to steer me into the ditch at least, even on the summer only Pirellis, so far. Just start it in second gear on the slippery stuff.

Well the ricer honda had the same tires but the ws60s which is just the last years model, but what helps a lot is the traction control on ice and light snow actually drove really good a lot better then my ram in two wheel drive in snow
