anyone else with squeaky brembos?

Hi guys, so I'm curious if its my car or if having brake squeal is common with the brembos?? Its pretty embarrassing to be in a devilishly handsome car that that squeaks like some old jalopy rolling through a parking lot. No I didn't really give the new brakes a chance to break in with all that power under my foot, I confess... But does anyone know if there are some good aftermarket pads or rotors that wont make noise?? Thanks!

---------- Post added at 10:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ----------

oh yes. and I did scuff up my pads and rotors pretty good with sandpaper. The squealing went away for a few days then came back.

Re: anyone else with squeaky brembos?

Not much squealing with mine.A little. If yours is that bad try google for a few tips to cure the ill.Your wheels TQed to 100 ?? Your rotors are probably not warped but just wondering. But yes mine does but very little and nothing I give 2nd thought to.

About a week or so after I wash it and the dirt starts to build back up it does a lil.. If I don't use a power washer when I wash the car and spray the brakes real well it will some also

Yes this happens all the time to mine got about 11200 on the car. If you get out on some back roads and warm em up they stop. It's not unusual for brembos to make noise when they are cold. It's because there "high performance" brakes.

Its also important to get the hi temp silicone brake grease on them. Made a huge difference on my brakes. A performance set of brales will squeal rather than squeek. Don't run track pads. Those things scream untill they are damn near red hot...

I was told to replace the Brembo's with Hawk Ceramic pads. I just hit 9,000 miles and so far so good for me. Minimal squeal

Re: anyone else with squeaky brembos?

I have the brembo brakes as well, i do have a little noise here and there. I was told by my mechanic that since the calipers are so huge that may be causing the noise. I havent looked into new ones because it doesnt happen that often.

My car does this also. I talked to the service guy at ford that checked everything and said it was common. He did tell me to try to slam on the brakes and it should stop.... Shame on ford.

They are known for squealing. The big surface area of the pad makes it worse. Do you have blank rotors or slotted?

Do slotted rotors help?

Mine only do it when outside temps drop below 50 degrees it seems. Not that worried about it at this point. 1500 miles on her.. Only have a 2 mile commute to work, so not much time for them to warm up...

Re: anyone else with squeaky brembos?

I have the stock brembo rotors. Mine just turned over 2000 miles the other day. Its weird how everyone is saying that it stops when they warm up cause mine is the opposite. They're always quiet until I start driving around a while. And its only at low speeds like going thru a parking lot. I use my e-brake alot cause I hate the squealing!

Its weird...I worked for a speed shop last year which also had a race team. I worked on two 2010 camaros that ran in scca world challenge and they had brembos. I never heard one squeak or squeal ever out of those cars. But they also had stop tech pads and slotted rotors.

I have nearly 2,500 miles on mine and no squeak or squeal here. I've had Hawk HP+'s, so I know what squeal is! My BrembOS are quiet.

Re: anyone else with squeaky brembos?

Over 12,500mi. and extremely rare that I may hear a peep out of the Brembo brakes!

On that note, another brake-related post on its way...
