Well,

My wife drove my stang tonight and hit 100 mph on a 35 mph zone! I know unbelivable! Anyway, she tells me babe the exhaust is not loud enough! That surprised the hell out if me because my wife is very girly. Anyway, I think is time to swap my exhaust. I have the Roush axlebacks and looking at the flowmaster outlaws. Any opinions? Are they louder than Roush? Deeper tone? I will be selling the Roush cheap so pm me if interested. Thanks guys!

Do an off road x pipe.. That'll make it a lot louder.. I don't think you'll get much louder than roush w an o/r xpipe.. Except w muffler deletes..

Here's my 11 GT with Magnaflow competition deletes:
Can be very loud at WOT, but awesome. Get a bit of drone cruising at 2k RPM. It brings a smile to my face every day! I'll prolly do h pipe next.

I have this setup ... check my exhaust vid in my sig and CRANK your speakers. It's very quiet in the video compared to in person.

I agree. My buddy put the Roush axle backs on and it had an ok sound IMO. Then he put on an O/R h-pipe and like mentioned above it is as loud as you are going to get without mufflers deletes. The last time I talked to him he was getting rid of the the roush's and going with gt500 axle backs because it is now unbearable at cruising speeds haha

I would have went with GT500s if my stang was a DD. Since it's a "toy" car, I don't care that it's loud as hell! Different strokes though. Seriously, don't underestimate how loud the Roush + O/R X setup is. I don't think many people could tolerate it in a DD honestly.

Rob,

I want my exhaust a bit louder than the Roush. Not nasty loud just deeper. Roush sound really good just wanted a bit louder.

I always thought that flowmaster, magnaflow and dynomax were the best mustang exhausts. Many people like Roush, Borla on these newer mustangs. Like I said before the Roush sound good but not muscle car good in my opinion. Its a more modern sound rather than classic.

I have the 3" flowmaster american thunder cat back exhaust. I'm happy but i was trying to save a little money. If i had to do it over again i would probably go with the magnaflow or stainless works. Not because of a sound issue, I just think they are built better.

Yeah... They're a bit less "refined." It's deeper and more grunty than the Roush.

I guess I will look at the SLPs. Are the SLPs popular? I have heard of them before but not much.

I like the Roush but my neighbor had a 4.6 L stang with dynomax exhaust and it sounds mean. Sounds like a muscle car not a modern sports car.

Yeah, thats what I have been told. Its difficult to find the perfect sounding exhaust for these cars. Just thought that maybe the flowmaster outlaws would sound deeper.

I thought you were wanting louder then Roush? Do you plan on getting an offroad X or H-pipe? The roush mufflers with the stock setup sound a little muffled (like there is to much back pressure) IMO, But with an offroad H pipe they're extremely loud.

You'd be surprised what it takes to fail the emissions. I had an 04 with an off road h and MAC cat back and it passed! They say as long as your engine is still fairly new it will still be efficient enough to pass.
