Decklid question please

Anybody personally removed the decklid panel that is solid one piece with gas cap all in one.(the one on some of the factory package accessories GT's).I have heat gun and plenty of fishing twine but looks like may need a trim stick too. Alot to work loose. Any pointers and tips would be awesome fellows. Surely it's properly painted behind it too-correct?

Re: Decklid question please

Is this a deck lid you put on? I would imagine you are on the right track with fishing twine and heat gun or blow dryer...I didn't know the Ponies could come stock with deck lids?

Re: Decklid question please

Haven't removed mine but am considering removing mine and installing the tri-bar pony like on the v6. It is definitely painted behind the panel, but when removed will have the bump out for the faux gas cap.

Thanks lone star! It's about what I figured.Be best to do it in the heat of summer but I doubt my patience are that good.Got a heat gun in hand and next decent day out I may snatch it off and throw it out or for sale pretty cheap.I already got another cap and gonna mod it with plasti-dip I think

Re: Decklid question please

Yeah I removed my Flava-Flave faux gas cap.
Just use a heatgun to warm up the doublestick body tape, not to hot. Use the fishing line to cut into the tape a little and then pry it off gently with a body tool, I used a wooden spatula..lol
Underneath you will see a bump and you can pull the GT logo off and put in on there. It looks clean and factory and it fits perfectly. I will try to post a pic. But I just joined 3 minutes ago.....

Thats a super nice set up you have there. I thought about buying white but went with black instead. I still love the way the white stangs look. Its a clean look for sure!
