Exhaust and the police

As anyone been pulled over for a catback exhaust?
What happened? ticket?

I just recieved my pypes super system and im worried about getting pulled over and ticketed. The car sticks out like a sore thumb as it is and the noise is just gonna make it a cop magnet.

Thanks, Dennis

Re: Exhaust and the police

My car has set off my neighbors car alarm while in his garage before and I have only been ticketed once, and it was later dismissed. It is very easy to get out of an exhaust ticket. If you ever get pulled over, just determine what the city ordinance is in your area of being pulled over, and then ask how the cop was supposed to measure the decibels without a proper reader, then ask them how many harleys go driving around that are just as loud and they never get ticketed. Its relatively easy if you do your work. Do your research if you ever get pulled over and dont be an ***.

I did while in Ohio in my G8. They said it was to loud blah blah. They even gave me a ticket. I went to court fought it and won. I was only there visiting for a week. I have TX plates where I live.

I know here they say it is same as a stereo. If they can here it 50ft away they say it is disturbing the peace blah blah. Where i live though they don't really care unless you are revving it at 3AM.

Re: Exhaust and the police

Just remember to be easy with Reving or gunning your Engine, in neighborhoods. Early in the morning when I leave for work, driving out of my area, I do not gun my Engine, I actually coast out of neighborhood, just as a respect to neighbors.

Re: Exhaust and the police

No problems here in SoCal yet, deleted mufflers. It depends on if your taking it to 6k rpm every gear I guess... If you're driving aggressive you're gonna get a ticket.
