2012+ Boss Rims

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a new GT this summer 2012-13 and I love the black and red BOSS. I don't have enough for the boss and I want back seats. But I'd like to know if there is any way I could buy the boss red rims. I plan on getting the new GT with the track package.

The Boss has back seats, only the Laguna Seca model deletes them.

I don't know if the Boss wheels are available, but if they were FRPP would be the place to get them. I would expect to pay $1200+ per wheel. If you think I'm making that up, there was a thread recently where a guy had the paint peeling off his Brembo wheel and the cost (dealer covered it) of the wheel was $900!

Okay Thanks man. What's a good suspension set up on the new GTs you can get from the dealer? Or are there any?

Frpp is different than ford.. My brembo wheels in black are only 200 something a piece.. From ford dealer I have heard $400+ on the factory brembo wheel.. But theres plenty of wheel makers that make OE replicas for a fraction of the ford dealer cost.. Don't know of anyone will have them in red.. Only seen them with black accents.. Prolly have to get someone to paint them red..

There is a Guy in s197 that got real boss rims from a dealer. They was like 600 each. Another Guy ordered the back seat delete and it was almost 3000 for everything like the LS. Also they sell the boss recaro seats and from Ford they are 3000. Some places have them listed for 2300.

Most of the Boss/CobraJet parts are sold through FRPP. Not sure what you're getting at ...

Here's the Brembo wheel on the Ford Parts Website. $800 and that doesn't include the valvestem that must be replaced as well (probably $100 for that since it's part of the TPMS crap).

Track Pack encompasses the Brembo pack and adds the Boss radiator, engine oil cooler and a Torsen LSD with 3.73:1 gears.

That's exactly what I want then. Brembo is upgraded brakes, wheels, and suspension? And is the Torsen LSD any good?

Yeah the Brembo has all that and a modified ESC system I believe.

By virtue of reputation, I would say yes the Torsen is good. I have not personally used one on a mustang though.

Depends on mods and transmission. Basically you give up a bit of top speed for a bit of acceleration. 3.73:1 and 4.10:1 are ratios of wheel rotations to driveshaft rotations. So for every one time the driveshaft rotates the wheels would rotate 3.73 times or 4.10 times, respectively.

Also, 4.10s can not be ordered with the car. 3.73:1 is the highest gear that Ford sells pre-installed.

Not looking
For the black. I want the red accents, maybe if I ask the dealer if I could have them put on with the track pack?

Yes, they are different in that they are separate distribution channels. Those are not the same as the LS wheels btw (for one the LS wheels are 10" wide in the rear)

My dealership painted my wheels for me (warranty). But I'm not sure what paint they used exactly.. They said they did research on it an found the hardest clear coat they could to put on there so there was no chipping

Re: 2012+ Boss Rims

I can't find those anywhere, unless those were the ones that Ford was charging a fortune for!

Still, the price on the black ones that are similar to the LS wheels is pretty good if you don't mind the black or having them painted.

Well I'm doing a Boss Clone on my Gt when I get it. Unless I find a 2012 Boss for 32,000 or less

I think it's pretty safe to say that you won't find one at that price. Are you doing a Boss clone, or a LS clone? Those wheels don't come on the Boss unless you get the LS package (and they only made something like 700 of those).

Well, I'm
Gonna start out cloning the Boss with a few extra "my own custom" touches. Then throw on a few LS parts like the spoiler
