That's surface rust man, nothing to worry over. Simply give it a good spray down with warm water and yes the snow had alot to do worth the sudden rust appearance.

Its normal dude let her warm up...mine does it and after it warms up shift smoothly like butter...we have a mustang performance shop in toronto called da silva racing an you can acutally see there videos on you tube.... I spoke with the owner about the mt82 transmission and he said that he has had no problems with it...he explained basically that he beats the sh*t of it and i forgot to mention hes got a blower on it with a boss intake manifold and borla axle backs and he even said let the vehicle warm up...the mt82 isnt as bad as everyone says it is....all i can say is ford has sold over 20000 5.0 in the past 2 years, your obviously gonna get some bad eggs in the bunch and more feedback from people....

Re: Rust wtf?

I know exactly what you're talking about. I hate to see the rust under my new car. I'm planning on getting rid of the rust and painting the axle and whatever else is getting rusty - within reason.

Re: Rust wtf?

rust like that is normal, was probably that way before you even purchased it. They dont coat those parts so they rust.

It's just a oily coating they spray on the bottom of your car to prevent rusting.. Chevy trucks come w a thick greasy substance covering the frame for the same thing.. Only problem is you get absolutely covered in it if you ever have to work on anything under there.. I deal w this at least once a week at work.. I hate the stuff lol

A lot of trucks up north have this done to prevent rusting..
