Gauges...Why

So why would one want to install gauges...

Whether the car is stock or not...

Say I'm running BOSS 302 IM, CAI, headers, x-pipe, custom tune...

Or I'm running a Procharger...

What am I monitoring and why, what are my options, lets say it is only two gauges.

If your running a procharger or other FI you'd want a gauge for boost...

Re: Gauges...Why

You would want a boost/ vacuum gauge and either a afr gauge or egt gauge to help you tune.

I would get a couple interceptor gauges, set them up for any param you dont want to constantly watch will trigger an alarm light~ those cover pretty much everything you could want to know.

Dashhawk, ftmfw.

I love being able to check up on what my ECU thinks reality is. I'll admit, my last car being modified forced induction, it was more necesary than with this car but, it's still cool to see what's going on, be able to datalog, have performance measures, etc.

Re: Gauges...Why

I monitor A/F and EGT's that is it. Boost is nothing but a number to me as I know what I am making. And don't need to be worried as long as my A/F is good to go. I did checked it at the dyno but that is it.

I also think looks retarded when you see a car running 3-6 gauges monitoring all kinds of stuff.
