Headers + catted x pipe = tune?

If you change headers and put in a shorty catted x-pipe is a tune required?

As far as needing one is a different story!... But I would get one just to be safe!.. Plus the extra little bit of performance is a added bonus!...

Not required, but you should really get a tune to effectively maximize what you have. The tune will take advantage of the extra flow capacity.

I would love to get LT's but i live in CT and we also do have the same laws here and finding a catted shorty midpipe isnt easy from what i have seen!

Where in TX?

With bbk you don't need tune but best you get one to get full potential

Re: Headers + catted x pipe = tune?

I have the same problem right this minute. I have higher flow just with upgrades exhausts and cats. Now my check engine light number 2 down stream O2 is faulting out even with a new replacement. Guess the ECU cant keep up. Planning on getting the Live wire Bama tuner, but the price is a far reach. Cheaper options arent worth the effort or money. Running rich, can smell the fuel out the back end.

I have Roush axel backs and I am mildly concerned that it will be too loud with o/r xpipe.

Short answer is yes there is emissions testing. I have known folks that have "managed" to circumvent the system though.
