New car, hand brake question

Hello everyone. Well as of two weeks ago I can now not just read these threads, but actually have a new car to post to the forums.

I do have one question. I love this car in every way, but one. The hand brake seems to stick out a little from where it sits. They all do from 2005+ and the way I sit it seem to stick into my leg. Now obviously it wasn't a deal breaker, but I wanted to know if anyone has ever taken theirs out and for lack of a better way to explain it, bent it towards the right. or bent it down or just made it so it doesn't stick out. There seems to be a ton of room so I don't know why Ford didn't tuck it in the space that is there better.

Any help would be nice.

I have included a picture of my new car. Kona Blue is awesome........

Re: New car, hand brake question

Congrats on the new ride. Got mine right after new years. Thanks to the crappy weather, I've only been able to drive it a few times. Can't say that i've really noticed the placement of the brake.

Re: New car, hand brake question

I think it is there to stay? I haven't seen any aftermarket brake handles either...maybe change the way you sit?

Exactly what is "the way you sit?" Perhaps that is the issue, not the hand brake design?
