For those who have the BOSS IM Installed

Are you using the stock air intake box or CAI...and why?

Stock air box does not fit. The inlet tube will not physically mate up to the Boss IM.

AM has a kit that is $187 give or take that adapts the stock air box.

Yes they do, but you didn't mention this in your original post. IMO, it's extremely overpriced and you would be better off going with a CAI even though the gains are minimal. If you're going to spend money on something it might as well look good...

I'm running a JLT CAI, mostly because the install kit wasn't available when I put my Boss IM on, but also because it looks good under the hood. The plastic matches the OEM shade and texture pretty well. Even now that the kit is available, I would probably still do the DIY method since it doesn't involve cutting open your wire harness and the parts cost less than $5.

Agree, I think it looks better, yes I didn't mention that sorry. Thanks for the info.

All things being equal, it really comes down to personal preference. I doubt the CAI much, if any, power past the tune and boss, but on the other hand ... I can't figure out exactly what in that install kit makes it cost $185. I could see paying $50-75 for it, but at $185 I think they're just fishing for cash.

I agree seems a little price for really just an inlet tube, the rest of the items are the $11 items you can get at Ford?

* (1) Fuel vapor Hose
* (1) Bracket
* (1) Screw
* (1) Fuel supply assembly

I do think the CAI would look sexier but that's saving $200 if you just go with this kit from AM...

I wonder if AM will price match...

Yes, AM does price match. You can get all the equipment you need from a hardware store ... read the writeup stickied at the top of this forum and they go through exactly what is needed.

I'm not sure what this fuel supply system you speak of is. The fuel rail and injectors are a direct drop-in from the stock IM to the new one.

Great, good to know.

I have no clue, that is the list provided on the AM site that describe what's in the box.

Re: For those who have the BOSS IM Installed

I think it's a bunch of parts you don't need tbh.

Re: For those who have the BOSS IM Installed

Probably so, I'll probably go with a CAI regardless. Thanks for all your insight.
