Exhaust/Grille for 2010 GT

I just got a {beautiful} 2010 GT and I'm ready to put some exhaust on it. I'm thinking about starting with the axle back. Any suggestions? I want to be loud but not obnoxiously loud. I don't want to be cheap, but I don't want to break the bank. I'm looking for the deep and aggressive growl right now because I will get an o/r H pipe down the road. This is what I've heard about some options:

MAC Boom Tube= obnoxiously loud
MAC (non boom tube)= good sound
Flowmasters= I will have problems down the road... and unhappy with the sound
Borla= too pricey
Bassani= great sound
Pypes= too raspy

What do you think?

Also, I am looking for the eleanor kit, but it's been kind of hard to find. I'm looking for the center fog lights on the lower grille, not between the headlights. Help?

Or I really like this one: http://www.mustangdepot.com/OLC3/ima...t/PB041707.JPG

THANKS!

I love bassani exhaust. That's all I'll say.

I've been listening to different kinds on youtube... granted I know it doesn't do it justice... but I kind of fell in love with Bassani too...

Check out the vids in my sig. I have Roush axle-backs and love them. The link is to a playlist with vids before and after the off-road x-pipe.

That sounds sexy! But.... definitely at the higher end of the price range. Notice any power gain?

From the axle-backs... no, axlebacks just change the sound of the exhaust. Taking your cats out or replacing them with high-flows is the only thing that will really get you any gains, other than long-tube headers and the gains there are pretty minimal over an off-road x pipe. The setup really didn't cost me that much either.

I got them on a great sale for about $350 but it looks like they are running about $460 again. American Muscle has discount codes available to members of this forum that I believe get you 6% off, which brings it down to $440 or so.

The UPR x-pipe is $250 and I can hook you up with a 10% discount code there. If you look at my threads, I posted a somewhat detailed write-up on my install of them.

Now we're talking. I'm going to keep shopping around... I'm hoping to decide by next week. Thanks!

Did you happen to check out the grille? Opinion?

Re: Exhaust/Grille for 2010 GT

American Muscle has that grille for about $200. It's probably my favorite of the aftermarket grilles that retain fog lights. I'm keeping my stang mostly stock looking. I would rather spend the money under the hood and surprise the hell out of some people with my "stock looking" car.

If I was going to replace my grille, I would go for the Saleen or Boss grilles and get the Boss/GTCS lower grille. I would get whatever you like. It's your car and the great thing about the Mustang is there is a wide variety of parts that let you make it your own.

Re: Exhaust/Grille for 2010 GT

I am quite the fan of the Saleen, but I want the center fogs. Thanks!

I love how aggresive Mustangs can be so I'm working on that look and well as the performance.

Love the grille, still want those center fogs though! Lol.

I love the smoked look, but not so much the covers. I have a friend that paints professionally. He's actually going to be painting stuff under the hood Kona blue to match! As well as the gray plastic interior.

You can get smoked tint that sprays on, but I've heard it's hard to do without getting runs and it's permanent...

BTW ... the Roush with an O/R X is REALLY loud. The videos don't really capture the intensity of it. It's loud enough that when I started it up and gave it a quick rev for some family at xmas that my three year old niece ran away crying

Haha, I actually read that in one of your other posts! That's hilarious!!

As for the spray tint, that's what he uses for the lights.

I got to go with Borla. they may be pricy but you get what you pay for. My entire family has borla, M3, f150 lighting, corvette z06, and of course my mustang. The quality of sound is just so much better.

S type. the atak is just too loud. dont get me wrong the s type will make you go deaf too, but its more subdued and more for the streets. the atak makes it sound like a track car. it also with the fuzz's attention quicker.

I wouldn't buy an exhaust that doesn't say SLP on the side. Best performance, price, and sound. They are amazing and nothing comes close unless you wanna spend almost a 1000 dollars on borla atak axle backs, is that company high?? Lol. Buy SLP!!!

I had SLP's on my 07 GT with a tune and CAI and no other mods. It was piss off your neighbors loud, I just thought it was too much especially at highway speeds. When I bought my 2011 GT I decided to go a little more conservative and went with the Flowmaster American thunder axel backs with an x pipe and I think it's just right. Borla makes a great product and I have had them on other cars but it's just not worth the extra money in my opinion.

I was just looking on American Muscle and I can't find the Roush Axle Back for 2010... It looks like they only made it for 11-12.

I know they make mufflers for the 4.6, but they might not make an actual kit for the 2010. you could buy the mufflers and some tips and have a shop weld something up for you
