I'd be interested as well.

The shaker 1000 doesn't have the nav unit. They are two different things, atleast that's what dealer said when I ordered mine because I had to choose

Re: shaker 1000

Yeppers, I thought if you got Nav/Tech 500 was the only choice...not that I care, I wouldn't have paid money for the 1000 anyway.

You are correct, if you opt for the 1000 you cannot get the nav.

For the amout of money they ask for the 1000 you can get a wicked amp and sub...the shaker 500 is a decent system i dont mind it at all but i do miss the bass from a nice sub once in a while...i like how you are now able to keep your stock HU and just instal an amp and sub...i think an after market deck would make the interior look crappy

I was worried about the effect of an aftermarket head on my interior (I know, my car is 05, but there's enough similarity that I'd have the same issue regardless of year). I went for it because of the added functionality (touch screen that gives me control over entire digital music library, WunderRadio and ShoutCast - which blow Sirius away, GPS, Stitcher, bluetooth, DVD and digital video play, etc etc etc). It had the surprise bonus of making my speakers sound 300% better-- and I am happy with the look. I don't think I could be satisfied with a factory head unit in any car, ever, after having this. And I make my own splash screens which is fun.

Now I was told by a stereo shop that the nav unit from ford didn't have a hookup for a sub so I will never be able to get a sub

Doesnt matter u can always add a sub on any stock head unit...thats what crossovers is for...takes a speaker signal cleans the sounds and converts to low frequency
