Yes, you will lose fuel economy on them. I suppose it depends on your definition of "totally kill" but I think you would probably lose 2-5MPG or so, probably on the lower end of that if you keep your foot out of it.

Most mods will not do your fuel economy any favors ... just a heads up on that. I assumed with the level of power you were wanting to get to, this wasn't really a concern.

I would probably get one of these:
Mustang Supercharger, M90 Kit (2010)

I know you want to stay NA, but to get 500HP that just isn't going to happen. This will bring you to about the same point that a 5.0 starts at and you should be good without forged internals. IIRC, the 4.6 3V internals start to lose it around 500HP, so if you're going to go much higher than that I recommend buying forged internals or having the money for a new engine laying around.

If you do want to say NA, I would go with a CAI/tune first, followed by full exhaust (headers, mid pipes, everything), underdrive pulley, 4.10:1 gears, and some better wheels/tires. I don't think you'll be anywhere close to 500 HP, but that's what you're going to get NA. Cams/Heads aren't worth it, just get a blower for the same cost and bigger gains.

You might also be able to find some good info from the guys in the 05-09 GT section. They all have the same engine/transmission that you do. There are a lot of coyote guys here, and our setup is completely different.
Thanks that helps a lot. I prob still just want to stay NA. Idk why but I don't think I want s s/c on my car. So do you think I can make at least what the 5.0 is making with those mods ?

U will have to have cams and everything besides a blower done to it it will make just the same as a 5.0 but that's still alot of money to spend to match a stock 5.0

Ya I know. Well I'll start putting mods on it soon and I'll see what I can get the hp up to w/o a supercharger.

Yes. If you want more performance, go with 4.10s but Id put my $ elsewhere with 3.73s. They do the job just find and are better in bad weather.

Ok cool I'll just keep my 3.73 in then. Has anyone put a ford racing intake manifold in ? Does that actually give you noticeable gains ? Or would you need to add a larger throttle body and intake and tune to tell ?

You're getting confused by all the people with 2011+ manuals. 4.10s in a '10 are the same (close) to 3.73s in an 11+

That intake mani is a waste of money IIRC...
