2010 gt mustang mods?

I just got a 2010 gt mustang last week for a graduation present from my dad. I am very happy to get a gt. But I would like to keep up with the 5.0 and gt500 and cars like that. So my goal Is to make my car around 500 hp. But the tricky part is I want to keep it naturally aspirated. So can anyone help me on what to add to my car to get to that amount of power in my 4.6 L v8. I will put up picks of my new car soon.

I hate to say it but it's going to cost u alot to do that I have forged internals and a blower on mine and alot of work into it and I put down 563rwhp so u will spend alot I mean alot to put that much down without a blower so I would just put a blower on it and if u want that much u will need forged internals or u will blow ur motor sooner then later cause the stock block can handle around 450 tops

Ya I am expecting it to cost a lot and I am still not sure about the blower yet ? But your mustang looks good. What kind of times are you making in that ? Cause I really don't need to go over 500 hp.

With me an amateur driver I did a 10.7 I'm putting a pro in it in a couple weeks to see if he can get it in the 9s hopefully I'm about to put it back in the shop before and get the thing retuned so it can push as much as it can it's on a conservitive tune right now

That is a good time. Is your car a manual or auto? Also full weight? Thing is a pro driver I promise will not get a 9 out of it as it sits. Every little bit passed mid 11s can be hard to get. Suggest looking at what takes to go 9's. Unless it is gutted or major weight reduction about every car is making least 700whp with a full weight S197.

Dang that's really fast. I would be happy with just getting in the 11's after my mods. I think the 2010 gt are supposed to get like 13 something stock right ?

Ok ya that sounds about right. So what should be the first step to increasing power and torque ? What did you do first to get some power gains ?

Well I don't plan on adding a ton of mods right away but in the first year if I can keep it under $2000 that would be good.

Well since idk u need to decide if u want a blower or not then u can start modding

---------- Post added at 08:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:33 PM ----------

I went with a blower so I did forged internals and everything

---------- Post added at 08:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:33 PM ----------

But make sure u dont neglect the suspension don't put it all in the motor at once remember u can't put it down unless u have everything u need in the drivetrain and suspension to put it down with u can have a the power but if u didn't do anything to the rear end, suspension,or drivetrain u won't be going as fast as u think u can

Oh ok. How much did yours cost including install ? And what kind do you have ?

---------- Post added at 09:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:39 PM ----------

I already have a roush suspension. And roush sway bars and stuff. The guy that had this car before me added that and a roush exhaust which sounds awesome. But he only had for like 10k miles. So now I have it.

I have a ford racing supercharger and the only reason I have that is to keep warrenty but I can get 700hp out of it and the charger was free cause my friend owns the dealership and the install was for the charger 1000 bucks but I've spent way more then that on the engine so I can really tell u the prices of everything lol

---------- Post added at 08:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:44 PM ----------

And I started with a track pack car and instill had to do suspension work to put it down since u don't want that kind of power u should be fine

Oh wow that's awesome to know people like that. So if I bought a s/c how much would it cost to install from a dealer ? Like 1000, or more then that since you prob got a discount.

Yes I have a 100k mile warranty and I need to keep that. So if I got a ford racing s/c it wouldnt void warranty?

Perhaps, providing that it was installed by the dealership. I would make sure you have proof in writing of this.

Better talk to ur dealership and have everything in writing so they can't say yes and then screw u over but yes the only way to mod and have warrenty is have a certified dealership that is able to do it

Re: 2010 gt mustang mods?

Yeah, he told me he posted on this forum about his new 10 GT so I figured I'd come mess with him.

Hey, what did you tell him??? Now he's talking about making his car faster than mine, jeez. Stop putting ideas in his head, hahahahahaha. JK austin.

He says your car is a beast, can't wait to see it running d/r.

Well for a 4.6 liter i think it is for as much money as I put it in I could of had a very powerful 5.0 if I waited and got one of those lol but I didn't and didn't even know till I was to late to get one so I have this one I can beat 5.0 all day but once they start modding it gets tricky

Yeah but atleast you can have real cam's instead of a tune.

Plus you don't have #8 problems.

Re: 2010 gt mustang mods?

Anways, in regards to your original question...

I would probably get one of these:
Mustang Supercharger, M90 Kit (2010)

I know you want to stay NA, but to get 500HP that just isn't going to happen. This will bring you to about the same point that a 5.0 starts at and you should be good without forged internals. IIRC, the 4.6 3V internals start to lose it around 500HP, so if you're going to go much higher than that I recommend buying forged internals or having the money for a new engine laying around.

If you do want to say NA, I would go with a CAI/tune first, followed by full exhaust (headers, mid pipes, everything), underdrive pulley, 4.10:1 gears, and some better wheels/tires. I don't think you'll be anywhere close to 500 HP, but that's what you're going to get NA. Cams/Heads aren't worth it, just get a blower for the same cost and bigger gains.

You might also be able to find some good info from the guys in the 05-09 GT section. They all have the same engine/transmission that you do. There are a lot of coyote guys here, and our setup is completely different.

Wouldn't 4.10's on a manual transmission be a bad idea?
