Re: Anyone ever had a weird whistling sound

Probably just the CAI pulling in air. or it could be the pulleys/belt. Shouldn't be anything to be alarmed of.

It could be the alternator as well. They hum under a load. Mine does it on my '02 if you watch my GoPro front-mounted camera videos you can hear it. Sounds like a supercharger. Haha

Watch this video. When I throttle does it sound like what you're talking about?

Yeah.. I find it happens when the engine is hot and running hard.

Re: Anyone ever had a weird whistling sound

Sounds like it could possibly be a vacuum leak from the intake too... MY v6 did that after I had them ported out. The first time the engine bay got really hot, I could hear a high pitch whistle when I was on the throttle... It turned out I just had to tighten the bolts down once more...

That's what it sounds like to me... CAI will be more of a "sucking" sound... and alternator is more of a "chirp"...

but then again my intakes are aluminum and more prone to conduct heat... so IDK man... probably nothing serious if it went away when the engine had time to cool down...
