Clunky shifting in mt82

Is anyone else experiencing this? When I shift from any gear into another it is loud and makes a clunk noise.

Also when I try to go from a stop in second gear, sometimes it will pop out of gear.

Anyone having these troubles also. I've read a lot of complaints about the tranny but most of them seem to be non-specific

I would go with amsoil dude, they make an excellent product. Im still running stock fluid in the tranny after 17000km. Its alittle clunky in the morning when cold, but once it warms up its smooth like butter. Have you takin it in to the dealer so they can check it out?

Re: Clunky shifting in mt82

I used AMSOIL MTG and it shifts great when it warms up, or the temp is over 70. Still shifts like **** in cold weather (below 50) until it warms up though.

BTW ... prepare to get flamed, there is a small group of Ford apologists out there that insist that there is nothing wrong with the MT82 and that it's all due to driver error.

There are a few TSBs on the MT82 as well, might want to look them up and take the car to the dealer first if you care about your warranty.

Pages 73 and 74 of this will help bring you up to speed...
