Your right. I am not a mustang nuttswinger. Facts are the mustang didn't impress me at all when a stock ls1 camaro would still beat a 05-10 GT. That mustangs n/a sucked out the box. So I drove a 4dr sedan that crushed them as well even supercharged ones. When tired of people hitting it I test drove the new GT/GT500/SS/SRT/evolution. Choose a GT cause for got good deal and was lighter and cheaper to mod then A SS. Srt was over priced as was the GT500. 6k in mods and I take out gt500's with ease. And look just as good and spent 20k less. If and when this car goes by by it will most likely be replaced by a c6 vette of some sort. With a built ls3 and Twin Turbo's. That or it will be a track only car. I like fast cars of all sorts. Not just mustangs.

I love mustangs but the gt1000 defies what mustangs are about, bang for the buck. It may just be my view point but dollar for dollar there is nothing better on the market, then again if I had 200k to drop on a car I doubt that would be my first worry.

I agree. Mustang is the best bang for the Buck. But even if I was to drop 200k for a car it would not be this. Hell UGR has a TT viper that makes 900whp on pump gas and 1100whp on race gas for 125k.

You need to remember that the 1000 isn't a factory car it's a special just like Saleen or Lingenfelter

I drove an 07 Shelby GT a couple years ago. That car gave me the Mustang bug ( drove a ls Camaro then). My question is are they tuned or is it just suspension on those Shelbys. It felt fast as hell. But my '12 5.0 is faster... I think. At least it feels faster.

Read all of these replies and lol'd a lot. Wnt2gofst, I've got respect for you bro because I'm mostly like you. And I am waiting for the right deal to sell my stang and move into a newer vette. Cams/exhaust/tune and pushing Over 600rwhp with a NA LS7? It's not even a question at that point.

I also agree that it is a waste of money, the GT1000 or whatever. Still exciting and I can't wait to see specs and pictures, but I'll never be jealous of it's owner. Cool car though, I bet.

Your 5.0 is faster than a regular Shelby GT, because it still has the 4.6 3V in it!..

All i know is if i had 200k to blow on a car i would probably buy a 2013 gt500 (65000) for a daily then mod it about (15000) the go buy a cobra jet for the track 120000(ish) theres my 200k and i would be soooo much happier then having one car that will just continually blow the tires off

---------- Post added at 05:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:20 PM ----------

Not that the 2013 gt500 wont just blow the tires off...but two are always better than one

All I know is that those who will buy this car don't care about 200Gs because at that price it is just a drop in the bucket to them!.. The rest of us 200Gs is a S*** ton of cash!.. We see it differently!.. And know one can honestly say what they would or wouldn't do if they made that kind of cash, because none of us make that kind of cash!..

Just appreciate the car for what it is!... Don't worry about the price because odds are none of us will ever own one!..

If I had 200k I'd buy a 2012 corvette ZR1, a Yamaha R1, a '03 Cobra, a '11 Can-Am Renegade1000, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, and of course to keep my GT. Yep.. That would be amazing. My vehicular life goals.

The 2013 will run sorry times on stock tires. It still has 285's on it. When will Ford learn? The ZL1 has 305's.

Ah!.. Generally cars that are running in the $200,000 range are usually cash up front!.. And odds are that is what this is too!.. And considering that I saw an interview on Speed with Carroll Shelby just a few months ago, who then stated how at that time they were already building four of them and sold them!.. That tells me that the $140,000 that you and your wife are making just a ain't enough!..

At any rate why not appreciate the car for what it is, and quite harping over the F***ing price!...

Umm you have no clue. People finance cars that cost over a million. I know people who have Lamborghini that he pays payment every month along with his SL65AMG and his 2 million dollar home. Oh and for cars over a certain price they do special financing for. Wait how do I know? Cause my wife does it for a living. People finance ZR1 corvettes/lambo's, AMG Mercedes, oh and what you know Ford dealer just sold a SuperSnake that they financed also.

And appreciate what? And over priced car that will not live up to its hype at all?

What is a fact is sure they will sell a few to be tucked into a garage somewhere and you will not hear nothing about it till Shelby him self dies.

See I don't hang out with guys that drive just old mustangs or new ones. We have guys that come and have 20-500k cars. Oh and they are not all paid in cash. Usually what they pay in cash is the TT kits that cost 20-100k. We have guys with 50-100k in EVO's even.

---------- Post added at 09:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:01 PM ----------

I know guys with enough in mods and rebuilds in one vette/evolution/viper alone they could pay for you to buy a new GT500 and get rid that car you have now. And still have enough to pay off my car plus my wife's new loaded 4Runner.

U should buy two chevys, one to sh*t on and one to cover it up with. Nothing but junk. The vette I had was a POS. Just curious , why do u an gofas even own mustangs.

Why do I own a mustang? It's a cheap good looking car that is easy to make your own. That's why I own my GT.

While I do realize you ask your question in a dick-like manner; I ask you to review my history. I respect Mustangs and most all cars for what they are. I am always trying to help and I love my car. So kindly, **** off. Thanks.

Re: shelby Gt1000

I got 1.9% as well but put down 17k so I only financed 22k. Which is great cause in two years when the full redesign of the mustang comes out mine will be paid off and that takes a lot off the top when you trade in.

Mine is annual rate. My loan was for 5 yrs. I also pay an extra 150 to principle every month.

My bad I didn't this month. I spent it on something else.

Why are people getting so damn pissy over this? Yes clearly the car is over priced but if people want it they buy it....hell for that matter all the vettes, zl1's lambos m3's m5's all of that is over priced and they are getting bashed because they want to buy one. The people that are buying these cars have the means to do so and clearly arent worried bout the money. It aint about any of us buying one because i doubt any of us will because none of us wont the lottery this whole topic got off track but thats just my thoughts......
