shelby Gt1000

Just heard about the Shelby gt1000 and that car is amazing. Has anyone else heard about it and if you have what kind of numbers are they supposed to make?

1000 hp for the "street" version. 1100 hp for the race version. About $150,000 plus gt500 purchase price. I think I'd rather have a Ferrari for that kind of money!

I can't imagine 200k for a car that starts out the same as my 5.0. That's more than my house.

200k for a stang sounds as crazy as 10k socks. But it wouldn't hurt to have.

+1 no way you can justify spending over 100k on a mustang

Over priced. If you are that stupid to spend 200k on a mustang you need help. This car will not not out run an enzo either. To much weight and traction issues. Could be why they Photoshop the car pulling wheels. Or show no track numbers for it. With that power it should run least a low-mid 9. Something tells me it might be lucky to run a low 11 or high 10.

Not to mention you could buy a new 5.0 and build it your self a lot cheaper and make more power.

If you build it yourself will it be a collectors item like the 1000 will be? Nope

What I really meant was that I hope it is a real super car that does run low 9s with all the supporting mods to hit 250 plus without losing control. I hope it will only look like my mustang but is no way near what I can do to my car.

950hp street, 1100+hp race, oh and it the 50th anniversary, you don't think that'll make it a collectors edition?

Anything with the name Shelby on it becomes an instant collectable!.. And as far as the price is concerned, if your making that kind of cash to were you can just drop 200Gs on any car you want, then price means nothing!.. And odds are you already have a few Ferraris and Lamborghini's!.. Personally I would love to have one!.. And by the way, I saw an interview with Carroll Shelby on Speed the other day, and he said they are building four of these right now, and they are already been sold!..

Re: shelby Gt1000

just because something sells for more than you paid for it does not mean you made money off of it due to inflation and cost of having your money tied up vs investing etc etc. Only rare newer shelby's will have any real chance of value in the future.

I bet people would admire that overpriced Shelby 1000 a hell of a lot more than a beefed up GT or even a run of the mill 500 that you had modded

Till you are at the track or car show and people go well what does itrun. You answer oh I ran a 10.8 after swapping tires spinning. And they laugh and comment you spent 200k to run 10's. And them guys down there have less then 45k inthere cars and look the same as yours besides a sticker and they run low-mid 10's. Or even a 9.

The biggest difference is that you will still have a very rare limited edition Shelby and they don't!.. And that you can afford to drop 200Gs on a car and they can't!..

And people will still laugh at you cause you paid 200k for a mustang.

Kinda like the Guy on s197 who has 100k in his mustang that runs mid 10's. What did he compare it to. This a Lambo that runs 10's stock yet cost 387k. At the of the day your and him are still in a over priced mustang. And as many others told him he is still in a Lambo. And I would still be in a mustang that looked the same as yours besides a sticker and badge and I would be faster. Oh and it took him 100k to get 10's and yet that is way over priced even for his 05 GT.

I am buying 5 of these just for the fact they are overpriced mustangs. Then I'm going to burn one to the ground just to roast marshmallows. Hate on that! (all this after I win the 540 mill lottery) haha

And like I said already!.. If you got the cash to drop 200K on a Mustang odds are you already have a few Lamborghini's and Ferraris!.. The GT1000 is being built for those people, not really for you or me!.. So stop hating on the car because you will never be able to afford it!..

How do you know what I can afford? Chances are not only me but my wife also makes more then you. Simply put again wasting 200k on a mustang is stupid.

If you had the money you would have one or would have brought a cobra instead of putting a blower on a gt

No why would I buy a old car. Cause in fact there is no new Cobra's. Oh wait you mean a GT500. And I think GT500 are over priced some. And lets see new 5.0 loaded with blower that will blow away a new GT500 even 2013. Oh wait and I still have less then 40k in it. And get more looks when parked next to GT500's

There is always that one person one every forum that thinks they are mr knowitall and im pretty sure that we just found him......my thoughts are and like i have said before if it isnt your bank account the money is coming out of why in the f***do you care? You dont loose anything because someone went out and spent 150k on a mustang so why whine about it? Your not doing nothing but sounding like a little ****

I stated my opinion and some of you got butt hurt cause I called it a waste of money. Kinda like when I stated that I would take a new GTR over a mustang. And idiots with mustangs making 220hp stated they would take there mustang over a GTR or a Z06 cause its so much better. I mean obviously it is better. There isn't a mustang out there that has done what either of those cars has performance wise the way they all come stock. That includes the over priced Shelby's/ Roush's and etc.

I remember that thread! Lol, I wouldn't call wnt2gofst a "know it all" but dude does know his way around a mustang and has been very informative on this forum, helping out a ton of us stangers and is entitled to his opinion which I happen to agree with.

What happen to "Built, not bought"? As far as a GT1000, it would belong on display in a showroom, not on the track. I don't think anyone who pays 200K for a mustang would want to run it through the gears. Just another garage queen.

Dude your the one getting buthurt!.. We all see how you think no matter what it is overpriced!.. You stated that like 5 times!.. Nobody here is disputing that, for that kind of cash you can make something else as fast or faster and spend less!.. We all here know what it takes to make a car fast and how much it costs!.. And like I said before I doubt you or anyone on here for that fact, has 200K in cash to drop on this!.. Wast of cash or not, the ones that can afford it, 200K is just a drop in the bucket!..
