Stripes

I am going to order matte black stripes next week but also want to wax my ride. Should I wait to wax until after the stripes are put on or will the wax not affect the installation of the stripes?
Thanks

I'd wait till the stripes are applied. It's recommended that wax be removed prior to installing decals/stripes.

Make sure you post pics when you've got them on. I was thinking about putting some on mine as well. I'm interested to see how it'll look.

No pin striping with matte black. If u used a contrasting color, pins might look good. At least what I'm thinking for my black girl. Lol

Definitely do not wax beforehand. And as a rule, it's best to wait 30 days after you put any kind of vinyl graphic on before waxing- it takes awhile for them to cure. Also, if you're doing matte black, be sure to test an out of the way area before going over the whole thing.

What do you mean test an area out of the way. Putting 10inch stripes down the middle

They came out perfect no bubbles creases nothing! Just measure everything 4-5 times tape it in place. Soapy water spray squegee then resquegee and peel slowly. For curves use the heatgun ur fingers and a small blade. Take ur time and an extra set of hands makes it alot easier

If you're applying a product to the stripes themselves, check it out first- that's all. I know a guy who put wax (cheap brand- turtle or some crap like that) on his stripes and it streaked them up for awhile. Eventually went back to normal but it looked bad for a couple weeks.

Dont do it!!! I just did the one in the middle its impossible to line it up perfectly and get all the creases right. I tried for like an hour and its next to impossible. Im going to have it done professionaly this weekend. The sides are easy because its flat but the bumpers are impossible

Can't wait to see pics! If you're nervous get a shop to do it for sure. I'm a graphic artist and I had an extra set of hands as well- I've got really tight hand skills, but I had some scary moments! They came out great, but I spent more time measuring than actually putting them on

Re: Stripes

You can always go with matte black pinstripes too & be very subtle.
