I have the "Borla cat back system, aggressive" on my 2011...I love the sound...did you notice any power gains with yours? Borla says I should see 5% gains...does that sound normal? And, just curious how much did your system cost?

randy, not sure about the power, as you know, these cars haul *** as it is...like you, I LOVE the sound! So you got the cat back, NICE! I only did Axel back and it cost a total of $800 including shipping and tax from American Muscle. So, Axel Back on your cat back system, is it the ATAK muffler or the Stinger?

My next thing is appearance...gonna wait on engine performance upgrades after warranty runs out.

I want to tint the windows, then black-out tailights etc...including the 5.0 tag. Last will be black wheels.

I can pull a stock Z06... buddy has one that is heads/cam/intake/exhaust. It was bad. He makes right at 560whp/500wtq. I made 620whp/520wtq on same dyno. He walked me so bad I wanted to cry..

On a side note seen worse drivers last night at track. New CTS-V ran best of 13.1@113, new ZR1 ran best of 12.3@124. And new 5.0 ran best of 13.8@109..

Buddy ran new best in his bolt on 12 5.0 of 11.2@125. Its an auto.

I ran into some issues with shift points. But ran a best last night of 11.0@129. 1-2 shift shifted 1400rpms early. And in 3rd gear when stall locks up getting huge drop in rpms.

11.2...WOW! That's pretty good. You ran an 11 flat? What mods do you have?

+1, i wouldn't do anything to that car that would void that warranty.

I got a buddy that works for ford. He says those things are comming in all the time for warranty engine replacements.

There is very little upgrades you can do to it without voiding that warranty from what i've heard.

Maybe ... there are warranty claims that Ford would try to deny for both. I've honestly heard of them trying to deny claims for loose/rattling interior parts for axlebacks. Good luck getting help with the TPMS, ABS, or Advancetrac systems if you put aftermarket wheels and tires on. Also, any vibrations or suspension issues will most likely be blamed on them as well. You can put the stock wheels back on, but rumor has it that Ford has a sensor to tell how many times the wheels have been off and when the last change was

WHAT!? A sensor to for the damn wheels?! that's way too much. I believe it.

Going to Ford for anything is a royal pain.

Can't they do the install and still keep the warranty?

I wouldn't expect them to cover loose/rattling interior part after adding axlebacks.. That's common sense kinda.. Especially with flowmasters due to the drone.. Never heard of anyone having not been covered for anything due to wheels and tires.. Maybe if running drs or slicks and break a axle or something.. That sensor rumor sounds like just that.. A rumor. I do wheels and tires quite a bit and haven't heard of it.. The way they work there wouldnt really be anyway for it to tell that.. I think there would have to be something more to it in order to do that.. Could be wrong..

It is true. I had to take my car to a interior shop cause my local dealer (stone mountain ford) said it was the exhaust shop fault and to take it to them.

I'm sorry to ask this, but are those new 5.0s built so half a$$ed that after only a short period of time with an axle back (which is pretty much just a pair of mufflers) interior parts start to loosen up?!!

That just sounds crazy to me. I've had some pretty hefty exhaust on my stangs but it never made anything loose... What the heck can it loosen?

Are people sleepin on that assembly line or what?! Jeez

Yeah Napolean, I think during my 5 hours at the dealer when purchasing my car, they even stuck a sensor up my A$$...there was about an hour of time I couldn't account for at the dealership that evening

I was joking about the whole tire sensor thing ... it was a joke poking fun at the monitoring they do to the ECU and such. They will give you a hassle if you bring it in with new wheels and have vibration issues or what-not. My car had some pretty bad shakes at 80MPH and higher when new and they refused to even look at it because they only warrant the car to operate properly to 65MPH and because I told them it was more noticeable with Advancetrac in Sport Mode or completely off. Apparently the car is not covered by the warranty while operating in these modes either.

Yup ... par for the course. You can file all this under "why I don't care about my warranty." It's a freaking joke!

With a 315 won't you have to roll the fender to make it fit?

That's VERY hard to believe.. I've owned 5 different vehicles.. All w aftermarket exhaust.. Every one of them after a few months started rattling/vibrating.. The extra vibrations through the cab causes clips and things like that to not fit as tight.. Same as if you lived down a dirt road.. Things that use bolts don't loosen up from this..

Not positive but I don't think so.. Maybe if you have a huge drop.. Mine is 1.5" and I'm pretty sure they'd still fit..

Fender is rolled from the factory. I'm running 305s on a 1.5" drop and no issues ... they stick out past the fenders on both sides.

Ignore that finger ... lol

Hope this helps ...

I've got the eibach pro kit which notes

PRODUCT FEATURES
Lowers Center of Gravity for Improved Handling
Aggressive Muscular Stance
Improves Fuel Economy
Progressive Spring Rate
Drops GT: 1.0” Front, 1.5” Rear
Drops V6: 0.8” Front, 1.2” Rear
Fits 2011-2012 GT and V6

I ran a 285/35R19 during the winter and it just barely rubbed when hitting a big dip in the road. Currently running 285/30R20 nittos. If went up to 305 or 315 would you have to run a 25 for spacing? I'd love to put more meat on ground but don't want to destroy the tire or fender. Good to see pics on a car.

I think a lot has to do with off sets of wheel also. Tuck more inside then out. And then a lot of guys remove bump stops in the rear fender.

Americanmuscle.com has a great selection of wheel and tire combos and I believe there's a 100$ rebate on your next purchase

Yea I just got mine from AM a month ago and they werent too pricey, the look amazing, and their 19's. I felt 20s would be a bit too much.

Sure will, I was debating 20s for a while and was happy when I bought them. My care handles great! Ride is smooth and car still picks up good. I suggest you buy 35 series tires. Better for the ride

Try to go with 275 35 or 295 35. Trust me, you will get a better ride and extra sidewall. Just my 2 cents
