2013 GT Exhaust

I have a 2013 GT due in in the next week or two. Would like to change the exhaust system for better sound. I have been looking at Pypes Pype-bomb Axle -Back Exhaust system. There is a YouTube video with a new 2013 with this exhaust system. Sounds pretty good and said to have a low drone. Anyone have an opinion on this system vs another exhaust ?

I have the pipe bomb and after it was all said and done about the only thing left are the tips and the rest is custom because the fitment was so far off. The drone is horrible at 2k but I like to hear the engine so it's no big deal. Honestly go with a custom built muffler delete, they are just as good and about 100 bucks

Thanks. I heard they could be an issue with installation.

One other thing I had to do was shove rubber bushings in between the frame and the stock exhaust pipe to keep them from clanging when hitting bumps its a real bummer to hear that. But other then that the pypes sound great.

I had same issue with hangers..I had to bed them pretty good. Also they didn't want to seal at clamps so I welded them.

Just have a muffler shop delete the mufflers. You'll save a lot of money. I got mine done for 60 a side.

I have the Corsa sport cat-back in my 2011. Not sure if they make 'em for the 2013s, but boy do they sound sweet.

Have any of you heard corsa axle back with off road x? Trying to narrow between gt500, Borla s, and corsa. I want loud but not raspy.

On that note, when I talked to lethal...they recommended magnaflow with o/r x...

Re: 2013 GT Exhaust

Originally bought the Pypes axle backs and they came damaged. Was bummed out that they were damaged from the factory. Went to reorder and they were out of stock from Latemodel Restoration. Talked to the rep and got the stock GT500's instead. That classic sound is what got me to change and no drone. They will switch right out with the stock mufflers on 2011,12,13. I have a 2013 coming and have a 2011 now. Looks really simple to do. Looked under my 2011 and it is a couple of bolts. Exact same shape but 4" pipes.

Re: 2013 GT Exhaust

I bought a Borla S-type catback used for $700. It is by far the best sounding exhaust for the 2011-2013 5.0 The gt500 also sound nice. I thought about buying gt500 mufflers and then getting the resonators removed and then getting an x-pipe installed to simulate the loudness and the smoothness of the borla s-type. People just dont understand that you cannot make the new 5.0 loud without being raspy unless you have the right mufflers AND an x-pipe (preferably catted)

BELOW IS MY HOMEMADE VID OF MY BORLA S-TYPE
