I have yet to see them make the power worth the money.

Peak to peak . No there not be when your torque curve changes as drastically as it does you have a different car at that point

Them gains still don't make worth the 35whp for the stage 3 cams. Which is what most have seen with them. For 1500 and then money for labor on top that. Its better to spend a hair more and get a blower.

Agreed. But sometimes n a is what people want. And stealthy is cool when your hood is popped. Also some people are just content with a naturally aspirated 350 to 450 horse

I could care less about the power gain, I LOVE the sound of a cammed car. If it wasnt for a warranty and extra labor cost I would do it in a heartbeat.

The new cams out don't really have a lopey idle. The ghost cam tune has more.

I'll be honest the cam method isn't what I would do but some of my customers don't want 500+ horsepower and cams are about a third the price . And your car sounds way better

If truly trying to max n/a out maybe. But even then I would go with custom ground. If not having to change springs as all cams out right now are nsr just isn't much to be gained for the money.

I even looked up pricing from other folks around the area and other sites. For the HP gain, I decided to go with FR S/C 525HP...for the money and the additional gains I'm paying a little more money, but I believe I will be much happier until that mod monster hits me in the back of the head again. The reason I went with the 525HP is the warranty if installed by a Ford Dealer. I think the 625HP is just a few hundred more but no warranty. Plus I really don't know where the hell I"m going to use 525HP that comes with the one I'm installing. Anyway, food for thought. Good luck.
Just curious....have you dynoed your car with the 525 package. Also have you ran it at the track?

Cai is a waste of money. I also am curious about the boss manifold...on the fence about it. Losing torque down low for a higher top end?

I don't think it is a huge loss and gears will make up for that.

For a new 5.0 I would use the money else where. With the part and install your almost in it for what you can get a blower for.

Yep..still not enough gains to justify price. Look at all cams. They don't make no power over 7000 rpms where boss shines.

Re: Best Mods

My car has not seen a dyno YET so im not exactly sure where on RWHP it stands BUT I just built a Coyote powered nmra factory stock car. I have a complete 100% STOCK coyote crate engine..not 1 thing done to it. I put a FB 3 speed manual automatic with a pro troque converter behind it. complete strange engineering rear end (axels, spool, etc), 4:56 gears, team z suspension, coil overs in the front,.. typical "bolt in" things.. i made my CAI because the rules in the class are so crazy. used a JLT CAI tubing, got a reducer and attached the STOCK MASS AIR METER (like i said, the rules are crazy) and put a k&N cone filter on it.. not the prettiest thing but hey it works... i just ran the car this past weekend for the first time since i built it (oh and the car weighs 3260lbs, not exacly "stock weight" but close enough) and it ran a 11.37 @ 117mph n/a.
i know its got a ton left in it because i was only shifting at 6250rpm. im going testing on friday and going to try different things (shift points, launch points, etc).. those coyote motors have alot to them..just got to figure out how to use all the power. I believe that based on what i have done so far, and what i hope to do down the road - you dont need alot of $$ and add ons to make a stock 5.0 run quick.

Just my thoughts.

PST driveshaft is a place in FL that custom makes them..all you need to do is take measurements. I gave them my measurements and had one within 4 days, fit like a glove. no issues what so ever.
