The Evo is sweet but it's not a Mustang.

Re: Evos concept styling for next gen?

The "millenials" arent into cars. Theyre into the facebook statuses and having the latest iphone. Im 23 and see this with all my friends, none are into cars, just me. We are a dying breed. The evos is nice but the retro styling is what brought me to liking the mustang again, and many others. I know our kids are the future but ford needs to focus on the 30-50 year olds as that demographic likes cars more than those who are under 25 now.

Re: Evos concept styling for next gen?

The evos styling looks great on the new Fusion but don't know how well it works for a Mustang. Guessing we should see a concept in a year.

Can't really say I'm a fan of the styling, but it is a rumor and I'll wait to see the real thing once it's revealed to make up my mind. Just doesn't scream "Mustang" to me

Re: Evos concept styling for next gen?

I had this conversation today at work, I was told that too, 'it doesn't look like a mustang" Thats a matter opinion.

I also think all BMW's look alike, its a matter of the name on the trunk. The problem is that the Evos looks like a Taurus with a strange door configuration.

The similar styling of todays mustang comes from the everything old is new again phase Detroit is going through. I don't find too many similar looks between the SN95 and the original Mustang.

ANYTHING is possible, this is the home of New Coke/Old Coke, its possible.

I too am waiting on my iPhone 5!

Re: Evos concept styling for next gen?

I think many of the design cues from the evos concept will work well with a modern interpretation of the mustang. We need to remember this isnt 1964 any more, we can't push for retro designs forever.

All things considered the evos shares more with the retro design than say the SN95 or fox body, like the large grill and "shoulder" over the rear wheels. Plus it brings back the fastback which looks great.

It doesn't look like the car from the 60's but I def think it looks like a mustang.

Re: Evos concept styling for next gen?

I believe we can expect the next gen mustang to look like a cross between the 2013 and the Evos. The majority of the styling features will come from the Evos but there will still be enough cues from the current mustang that you'll know what kind of car it is.

The only styling detail that the concept and the photo renderings (published in some of the magazines) have in common with the approved design are the fender flares and roof line.

The actual car will be more 99-04 with a little Audi S5; Aston Martin; 370Z than the EVOS concept.

No need to worry--the average dude will know it's a Mustang...

Any one see these posted today? All is pretty accurate except for the headlights and grill. The real design has a grill opening that is actually a variation of the 'superman' opening on the 2013 Taurus and the actual headlights look more like the 99-04's. I'm not sure what the rear 1/4 and taillight treatment looks like (yet).

Like I said before, a little Aston and a little 370z is sprinkled everywhere on the 2015 but it's still a Mustang with rear shoulders (read rear fender flares) that say "don't f$&@ with me..."

What do you guys think? I think it's spot on!

I hope it's not "spot on", I think that concept is going in the right direction but I don't think that's quite it. I don't know what to do differently but I'll know it when I see it

The rear end looks like the last model of the Fiero. I guess a turbo 6 will the only GT option and a rice wing.

You can't move forward (design) if you keep looking back. Keep open minds--trust me the final design will be impressive.

+11 You can only do the retro thing for so long until it gets tired and used up!.... At any rate, performance wise it will be the best one by far!..

I agree, and I'm not trying to stay retro, I just don't quite think they've nailed the new style just yet

I highly doubt the oval will appear on it since Ford is trying not to use it on the mustang, do they said a whole back. The Mustang is to Ford, as Apple Pie, is to America. So with that being said its not going to be anything that people wouldn't buy. They seem to be taking design cues from Aston Martin lately. I like the EVOS, idea, but it wont be the same.

Keep in mind that so far all we have seen is what some people think the new Mustang will look like!.. And none of these people work for Ford!.. The only thing Ford has said about the new Mustang, is that it will be Smaller, lighter, and have IRS!.. I think the new design will go down as one of Fords best kept secrets!..

Guess you'll need to wait and see how accurate my posts have been. I can't specify why I know but I can say I've been lucky enough to view a buck. If you don't know what that is, too bad, ' cause I won't be able to clarify. Enjoy the wait..

Yea, I don't think that's the style they are looking for, everyone is all hyped up on the 2015 mustangs, it's yet to early to tell. I think they are keeping the retro look for a few more years and keep evolving from that. I don't think they are going to make a huge jump like that. And if they make it smaller I hope they don't shorten it anymore.

Unfortunately (for you), you're incorrect. The 2015 will have some retro cues but will mostly be a modern, contemporary revision of this model. The new car is moving forward...

I like everything on that blue one except in the current mustangs I see more of a 64-68 fast back style, on that new sketch I see more of a 69-70 fast back style which I didn't like as much... I would still buy it

---------- Post added at 07:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:17 AM ----------

The front grille with the pony needs to be a little bigger and higher up though, like the look we've got now... I think moving past retro is fine but I think there are some features that the Mustangs NEEDS to keep

I really how they don't go with the new Evo look. I think for the 2015 they do a throw back to the older mustangs. Maybe not the exact same style but modify a older one
