DTC after BAMA tune :-(

I tuned my car last night with the 93 race tune and the check engine light came on tonight. Should have wrote down the damn codes before clearing them the codes said the car was running lean. If it does it again I will post the codes on here. Anyone know of this happening to their car? Mods are in signature.

Re: DTC after BAMA tune :-(

I haven't heard of this before...

My only guess would be that there was some sort of miscommunication or tuning info was forgotten for the car to be running lean.

Maybe those new 5.0's are that sensitive to slight alterations.

Seen this code before. Return to stock then retune it. Mine was a dyno tune. It fixed mine.

Yeah, try retuning, if that doesn't work, re load a tune you didn't have problems with and call BAMA. I did have an issue with my tunes at first, they had to adjust the programs for my larger MAF. It was quick and easy and they were very helpful

Re: DTC after BAMA tune :-(

the tune is validated before loaded so it wont be an issue with the tune itself most of the time, its the tuner that wrote it. They messed up~ get with them to get it fixed and get a new tune and run it.

Re: DTC after BAMA tune :-(

The issue with that is that I purchased this tuner from Craigslist. It was unmarried and had the three custom tunes. If I were to call BAMA, they would tell me to purchase the free tunes for life package before they help me I returned the vehicle to stock and I haven't had any problems. I will re-tune it soon and I hope all will be well.

I'm not sure on this but I thought the tunes were made for your specific vehicle? So, people couldn't just have others use the tune. Right or wrong?

You are right. I just got off of the phone with BAMA Performance and the custom tunes are tailored to your vehicle. They aren't for all 11' GTs. Looks like Ill have to shell out the money for the tunes!

That sucks but makes sense. They give free tunes for life which is a pretty good deal. Don't need people just giving all there friends tunes lol. How much is it for the tunes?

Well, I paid $240 for the tuner, and now I have to pay $150 for the tunes. Which is a grand total of $390 bucks. Guess who got the short end of the stick? Me!!

After talking with BAMA performance, they said that the tuner is programed with the specific code on the side of the ECU and mods currently on the vehicle. We probably have different ECU codes which is probably why I was getting the check engine light. Im going to try and return it and just buy the one from American Muscle. Less headache I hope.

When u order an sct tuner they ask you for your ecu code number that located in the engine bay on the ecu

Re: DTC after BAMA tune :-(

I'm finding all of this out now The tunes on the tuner are tailored for his ECU code number. Talk about a bad listing on craigslist. The tuner doesn't work as listed so hopefully I can get a refund but I doubt it.

I think it would be more for a piece of mind. Plus he'll get the BAMA TFL ID plaque and with forum code, its 357$.

Yes you need 50 plus posts. OP I doubt you can get a refund because the guy you bought it from presumably told you that only the default tunes will work. Call AM pay the money and get free tunes plus get them now instead of in a week.

Re: DTC after BAMA tune :-(

You can buy just one tune for $50, no need to buy the three pack. The 93 Race tune is the only one worth running anyways...

---------- Post added at 04:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:08 PM ----------

Well you used to be able to ... I don't see it on their site anymore.
