Manual Transmission noise in new 2012 GT

I have about 2k miles on my daily driver GT. I just happened to notice the other day that when in first and second, there is a low noise that seems to be coming from the transmission. If you apply some pressure to the shifter, the noise is louder. It seems to start shorty after forward motion begins, and stops in third gear.

It may have always been there ... normally the radio is on. But, I have a pretty good ear for noticing mechanical sounds that are out of the ordinary so I doubt it.

Ideas? If I had to compare the noise to something it almost sounds like hydraulic fluid going through tubing under pressure (just sounds like that, I know there are no hydraulic lines in the manual tranny!)

Obviously, it's under warranty. However, if anyone has experienced this and had a cause, that could keep the dealer from saying it's "normal" ...

I searched the forum and couldn't find exactly what I am hearing.

Thanks. Appreciate any help you can provide.

BTW, the car shifts fine, even in < freezing weather.

Interestingly enough, it didn't do it this AM. So, the sound is not present all the time. I don't think it's temperature related, as even after driving into work (~ 30 mins) it still was not doing it.

you can take it to Ford, see if they actually care~ they probably wont.... they like to ignore anything they can and just say "its normal" but you can keep at it and get them to actually try perhaps.
