Painting rims

Is there an canned paint you can buy to paint your wheels? I called a place in Houston and they said they would need my wheels for a week.

Re: Painting rims

If your going to paint anything on your car yourself, i would use the brand Krylon. It sprays and covers the best. make sure you prime as well. I know a fellow racer that painted his rear wheels black. He used a black primer and then black paint - turned out pretty nice for him doing it himself.

Im having issues posting pics from my cell the moment, but I have a few pics of my buddies 72 cutlass with the old rally wheels on it that we did a rattle can paint job on an,with the right prep, primer and clear coat they came out pretty good.and they were a very close match to the rest of the cars paint (white)..certain colors will be hard to match well..

Re: Painting rims

I remember doing that. Those old stamped "Rallye" wheels were often so rough, you had to go over them with a hand file, sandpaper and spot filler to get rid of all the flash, dings and holes before painting.

Yep, the good ol' days...not so much
