I can see kids getting one and ricing it out, would be a cool car though.

If they go with a small mustang hopefully they take some ideas from the foxbodys just so some of the older mustang looks are there

Most teenagers(who are the up coming buyers on the new model mustangs) don't like the foxes.
Personally as a 17 year old I think they are damn cool. Body style isn't the best but with a good paint job(the only mustang I think could rock a good 2 tone) and the stock hood looks very good it's sleek. It's a cross between euro hatch style with hard aggressive lines and long nose. Very cool car. Now modernize it and curve it up a bit to make it modern style and you have something like this.
Make that idea into a hatch and it would be kinda cool

Ive never owned one, but I would love to find an all stock hatch and pull the engine and build up the original 302 with a stroker build and do a high N/A build or maybe my dad would be interested in a turbo or sc build since he never has done one

Can't say I like it, but then again I wouldn't be all that surprised if the 2015 looked close to it either.

The only styling detail that the concept and the photo renderings (published in some of the magazines) have in common with the approved design are the fender flares and roof line.

The actual car will be more 99-04 with a little Audi S5; Aston Martin; 370Z than the EVOS concept.

No need to worry--the average dude will know it's a Mustang...

In general it looks good... They just need to tone it down and change those triangular headlights... With just a few simple modifications I think it looks pretty good.

I like the one with the really long nose on it. I kinda wish for would go to a 2 seater... Because no one ever uses my back seats am when they do they ***** and complain. I don't need them. But some people may like them.

It honestly would be awesome to see Shelby bring the gt350 back...something not as pricey and as radical as the 500 but still a nice medium between the gt and gt500

Yeah the 2007 Shelby GT was just cosmetic mostly. If they do that they should put a 5.4 NA in it. Give a little more juice than a stock GT but far from the GT500. You could get some pretty good HP mods without going all the way to SC.

I see where they r going
They want an in between of a GT(base) 32,000 and a shelby(base) like 62,000
I know there are the bosses, but personally I think the boss needs a huge N/A motor....
429

2012 base Shelby was 49k and the 2013 is 54k. I see what they mean though, they want a Shelby in the boss price range... Won't happen, Ford doesn't want to compete with itself

Because eventually it won't be retro haha.

in 100 years, every style would be retro.

But yes, originality over retro in my opinion.

The thing about the Boss is it was more a track car. That's why its not competing with other GTs. If they keep the track theme going, they could totally drop a 429 in there and it would work in the stable.

I like 2 seaters a lot, but i would at least like to have the option to have people in the back seat, that way you aren't stuck with the ability for only 1 passenger... Besides, Mustangs have always had back seats so they should keep the back seats.

If they where to bring back a mid range Shelby you couldn't call it a gt350 because a lightly modded 11-12 v6 is putting down numbers like that for gosh sake the gt500 is putting down about 650 hp

Maybe they'll call the new car a Shelby 650. would make more sense. Why in the world would they keep the 500 on it. Wasn't the number supposed to represent hp?

The GT350 and GT500 designation has never represented HP. The original 1967 GT500 was rated at 355 HP. Not sure where it came from, but it was never engine size or HP. Just marketing

Did some Googling. These are my findings. Don't know if it's true but it makes sense.

It was indeed arbitrary, ultimately decided upon by Shelby, and it just "sounded right". Nothing to do with distance between here and there, that's an old GT350 story.

Here's what's generally accepted as "the story", copied and pasted from another website:

If you turn to page 613 of the 1997 Shelby American World Registry, it has a special notation on the origin of the GT500 name. It reads as such:
Where did the GT500 name come from?
Carroll Shelby recalls that it didn't come from any dimension or quantity associated with the car. When it came time to chose a name for the new, 428 cubic-inch big block powered model, Shelby wanted something which was, "just bigger than anything else out there". Ford's top performer was the 427, but they also had the milder 428. Mercury had a 410, Chevy had a 427. Chrysler had a 413, a 426 and a 440. Buick had a 430. Pontiac had a 400, 421 and a 428. Olds had a 400 and a 455. Even Cadillac had a 429. These number all referred to the cubic inch displacement of their largest engines.
Shelby remembers thinking that the number '500' was a nice, round number. And, it was bigger than anyone else's number-even though his new car would not have 500 of anything.
'I just 'sorta' liked the sound of it. And the way it would look on those rocker panel stripes'.
And so the Shelby GT500 was born. While they were being produced, nobody else ever named a car a higher number.

Yeah, The Ford mustang surely does have to keep it fresh and stay ahead of the competion and keep us Stang fans happy, BUT, THAT is one BUTT UGLY car that me personally would never consider trading up to. I would just keep what I have.
That thing looks to me like an oversized and very swollen BMW Z4

No Thanks,

I say Ford should make another GT350 and put the V6 Eco boost in it. That would be a sweet a$$ V6 Mustang.
