supercharging

So my buddy has a 2011 mustang gt base and im wandering what the top psi from a kenne bell supercharger he could slap on because he's going on about it being supercharger ready.

Depends really. Fuel running and also the tune. But anything about 10lbs is pushing it on 93 octane.

I think what he's referring to is on stock internals. As far as I know, the motor is good for 550 rwhp on the stock internals... maybe more than that but I would stay on the conservative side

He's an idiot cause he thinks he can just slap on a 2.8 liter mammoth kenne bell supercharger and it'll be ok

I'm don't know alot about supercharges but I'm pretty sure as long as he intercools it and keeps boost low he should be ok. I know kenne bells can produce buttloads of power. And retune obviously

Yeah im just pretty sure he wants to run 12+ psi on the stock internals and i tried to warn him seeing as i know a few things here and there about cars and Idk about new engines not to long ago if you did that you have a rod sticking out of your motor head

If he doesn't want to listen and doesn't want to research it.. Let him go ahead and learn the hard way.

I doubt any self respecting shop would install it without informing him of the consequences anyway.

Well i kinda do want it to bite him in the as just so i can say i told you so which makes me feel wrong because he is my buddy but seriously don't **** with me and my knowledge of motors.

The new coyote engines are great engines that make great power. But slapping a huge s/c on any stock engine is just asking for trouble.

He will be good to about 650whp. As long as the tune is good. He can slap that blower on no issue. Its not that big. Its not like he is putting the 3.6l KB on it and running 20lbs boost.


With the SC usually the oil gears break first. Specially with the twin screw/roots blowers.
