5.0 emblems

Does anyone know how to take off the 5.0 emblem on the side? I am going to order black ones and put those on. Anyone have any tricks?

Floss to get off the badge, then goo gone or wd40 to get the adhesive off the car then clean off the adhesive remover and install new ones!

Goo gone doesn't strip the paint?

---------- Post added at 02:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:23 PM ----------

I would try something less aggressive like bug and tar remover.

I plastic dipped mine. I left it on too. It took about 20 minutes to tape everything off I sprayed three coats and I actually let it dry and pulled it off no problem looks great.

Wow! That looks awesome. I plasti dipped the mustang in the grille of mine. It looks awesome. I did the 5.0 but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it. With all the blacked out taillights I did I think doing the oval on mine would look good. Thanks for the pics!

Re: 5.0 emblems

I removed and replaced the chrome 5.0 emblems from the front fenders as well as the chrome fake gas Cap from the rear panel on my car- replaced the chrome 5.0's with black billet ones (tried the black plastic ones but they looked like crap) and put a black panel across the back that does not have a hole for the fake gas cap. I heated the adhesive up on all 3 of the old emblems with a hair dryer and then used fishing line to remove them. I then used some MMM Automotive Adhesive Remover to get rid of the sticky gunk.

Where did you find the black billet 5.0 emblems? I found some on eBay for like 23 bucks. I'm guessing that those are plastic?

Re: 5.0 emblems

I just went through my records and I am unable to tell you where I bought my black billet 5.0 emblems. I can tell you though, the $23 emblems will be plastic.

Re: 5.0 emblems

Tape around the sides and use fishing line or something of that nature. You will come to a peg or two and then switch sides...so start from the rear go until you can't go any further, switch to the front and you should be good to go. My two cents.

I've got a set of the 5.0 black plastic with the red dot. Not putting them on my car.

Are there any colors besides black? I would like to eventually do red 5.0 badges. Or would I have to dip my chrome ones?
