Aggressive DD wheel/tire combo?

I'll be receiving delivery to my '13 GT mid June. I want to go ahead and buy tires/wheels. I can only afford one set of wheels/tires, and they'll be used for DD and track use. I will be going FI soon after buy so traction is important. What's the widest tire I can fit on the back...what wheel sizes should I go? I love the stance of my fathers grand sport with 325s on the rear, I know I can't fit that wide...just saying. Please include the following:

which brand tire: I used goodyear F1's on my 2001 built SS back in the day and they held good, also heard a lot of people using Nitto now.
Wheel dimenions(front and rear): I was thinking x8.5 up front and x10,10.5,11 on the rear depending on which wheel I like best and what dimensions they offer. As far as wheel choices, do you all recommend I go with a 18'' wheel? 19's and 20s look great, but it appears wheel choices are limiting. Thanks in advance.

Re: Aggressive DD wheel/tire combo?

I don't know man.....Yea 18's are good for size options and better price. If you go forced injection you for sure got tire issues.I have major grip problems and I got some mods but no FI or turbo. You really need some 15's for extra playing around, but if you can only go with one set and you will be FI I would go 18's.I have 19's and love them.I like my tires and setup but I think I will use my OEM set to put something on for playing more aggressive

Best all around tires i've ran are my 305/30-18 toyo r888s. Great dry traction and great wet traction. bfg kdw2s were close but got beat by the toyos in dry.

Re: Aggressive DD wheel/tire combo?

I'm running Nitto NT05 275/45/18 up front and NT05R 305/45/18 in the rear and I've been happy with it. Very grippy and you can get good deals if you shop around.
