Re: 2014 Mustang

only two years...besides the terminator, that might be the shortest body style run unless you say the 2010s don't count because they were still 4.6, then also the 2011-2012.

I thought the redesign was supposed to be the 50th anniversary which should be the 14 model? 04=40th, 09=45th so 14 should be 50th.. Right??

You're right, the anniversary model is always the last year of a design, it won't be the new body style that is an anniversary edition... There has to be a reason for people to buy the model right before an upgrade comes out lol

Should be the same here, 2014 available in 2013 will be the anniversary, the new design will be a 2015 but available in 2014 and based on everything I've read, it will be smaller, lighter, have IRS and resemble somewhat of a cross between a new edge and an Aston Martin (think about the front on the new fusion) it will also be "obvious" that its a mustang but more modern and less retro.

That's pretty much all we know... Also historically the special edition models with extra power have evolved into the next GT (the bullit in 08 had the same motor setup as the 2010 GT at 315 hp, the 2003 Mach 1 had 300 hp like the 2005 gt...) I'm thinking the stock 2015 GT will have the same 444 hp/Mani as the current boss for this reason but that's just a guess based on the pattern they have used before

To add on to what was said expect the 2015 to hit the lots on April 17 2014. The day the mustang was shown at new York 50 years ago

Hopefully it doesn't look like the Evos concept. I just wrote a blog about that for AM and it is hideous.

YES! I started with an 08 v6 and I loved it, first manual car and first Stang... But once you go GT its just another level, every day you start the car you get that feeling its like therapy lol

Yeah I feel like they could release that thing but not as a mustang... Luckily they read the forums so I hope it still looks like a mustang should

I wouldn't be surprised if for goes the Ecoboost route with a 4 and 6 cylinder if gas prices keep going up... BMW, Audi, and VWs are good examples of new models sporting smaller Turbo engines for 2012 and up models

I just dumped my VW GTI in favor of the GT. Dont get me wrong, the GTI was quick and I did love it, but it's not like the distinct growl of that 5.0.
Thats a risky move, if you ask me, because thats a whole different concept.

I work in the industry, believe me, the Evos is the basic design theme of the next generation Mustang. There will be slight differences to keep the "heritage" of the brand like three element tail light etc, but the theme is correct.

So we're looking at the fox 2.0 lol. I'll still buy it

I think the Evos concept is pretty nice. And think with a few of the "standard" Mustang touches would be a really nice car. We had the retro design so lets move on..

I just hope they don't do what the did in 2010, release a new body with the same engine than in 2011 BAM! 100hp more to each and bring back the 5.0.

I like it too. The independent rear suspension alone will make me take notice.

Yeah that was bullshizzle. I'm still pissed about it, especially since they flat out lied by denying that they were developing a new drivetrain.

Yes, would love an IRS. Maybe they can keep the solid rear as an option though since I'm sure a lot of the Mustang enthusiasts would want. I for one would take the IRS though.

IRS will be great for road course guys. But drag guys will hate it. More work to make it hook up.

Maybe they could offer a "drag pack" with a T56 Magnum and solid 8.8" axle. I know that would never happen, but one can still dream right?

Yeah that's why it'd be great to have both. Think maybe IRS should be standard since I'd say most that buy Mustangs don't take em to the drag strip. IRS would probably be better and more comfortable for street and everyday use. Maybe have a drag pack that adds the solid axle, gears and a nice set of tires to hook-up for all the drag guys, for an affordable price if not a $0 either or option since solid rears are cheaper right? That's just my opinion. Gotta make everyone happy!
