So, I hate making a thread just to ask a question but I'm all googled out and the search results on the forum have left me pissin in the wind.
My 2011 GT is the base model or Deluxe as the dealer put it. I guess they call it that to make you feel special for buying the cheapest GT on the lot.
My problem is that the other day I took my Mom out to dinner and she rode shotgun in my GT and at some point she managed to scratch the center insert of my door panel with one of her gangster ass rings.
My question is this, does anyone know where I can find a replacement? The dealer wants over $500 for the entire door panel and I've seen some of the premium Mustangs with a cooler insert.
I'd like to upgrade to this style but if I can't find it at a reasonable price, do you think a upholstery shop can do this?

Damn cuz,yo mamma is gangsta.....you could probably take that insert out and do it yourself. If not take the door panel in and it wouldn't be that costly.

Yeah thanks, I was thinking about trying to replace the leather myself but I wonder if an upholstery shop could do something unique? Any suggestions?
And yeah, my Mom is pretty gangsta when she has to be. Lol.

Yeah, I saw that. That's what got me thinking about repairing my inserts. But I'm not sure if I want to change the color? I am thinking of having some kind of stitch work done. Idk.

Let me know what you find, would like to compare notes on cost, etc.

Anyone else having rattling door issues during stereo play? I can't tell if it's the insert or the door tray.

Just an update.
I was in the dealership to order a new antenna (long story involving children and a car cover)… Anywho, I spoke with the service manager regarding the buzzing door panel. He came outside, I turned on the stereo and he verified the buzzing.
He made an appointment to have it repaired. I showed up, it disappeared for an hour and he came back out with it. The service manager said that the 'Ford' fix was to place padding under the panel. So, I checked, and it seemed better. The service advisor said that if the sound came back to call, and he would order a new panel. I left.
About a week later the buzz came back, and I called back, new panel arrived yesterday.
I will make an appt next week to get the new panel, and update on it.

I customized the interior using the upholstery shop my Ford dealer uses.
You can see some pics in my photo album "The Car" http://www.mustangevolution.com/foru...ums2894-17850/
