Clutch Shutter

Hey guys I was looking for any old threads involving transmission issues. My 2011 gt is having really bad clutch shutter in first gear. I'm bringing it into the shop tomorrow and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I recently had the main engine bearing seal replaced because it was leaking. I'm thinking that maybe they put the clutch in wrong when they did it. It was really bad this morning but when I drove home it went away again. I think my car knows its going into the shop and decided to fix itself for the day

Re: Clutch Shutter

Try to deglaze the clutch first. rev 'er up to about 2-3000 rpm, slip the clutch out about 1/2 way and creep the car forward for a block or so.

I glazed mine trying to do a second gear burnout on the road to test my new Roush upper install. After which I had fairly strong shudder like you describe. Seen this before and I know either this method cleans it up or it doesn't.

If your rear main seal was leaking and it hit the clutch disc, it's done and needed to be replaced. If they just stuck the old one in I'd be thinking about a conversation I'd be having with the shop.
