Why try to fit in parts of a newer model on an older model? Our cars look phenomenal as they are from the factory. Installing 2013 lights on a 2011-2012 only looks as if we wished we had a 2013. I could understand if it was a perfect fit but why live with the gap and such? Just my opinion

Re: 2013 tail lights

Sorry guys, don't hate me for saying this... but I hate the fact that you can get 2013 tail lights and put them on the older models. It's one of the few things that sets this one apart from the 2012. I guess if I owned a 2012 or 2011 I might feel differently, cuz it does look awesome. This is the biggest reason I ordered the new model instead of buying a 2012 off the lot... and it just lessens the prestige a little to know that they can be put on older cars. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but it's just how I feel.

Hey bud I agree with you! A 2013 is just that. A 2012 should be that as well. Thats what sets them apart.

Maybe you should've waited for the 2015. I hear it's gonna be a complete redesign. So nothing will be interchangeable.

How do you think the GT500 guys feel, now that the GT looks a lot like the GT500? Lol

Good point I guess. But the pics I've seen so far of the redesign are atrocious.

I disagree. Mustangs are about personalization. And that means putting it to your taste. And if that means changing little bits to the styling of other years then so be it. Do what you think looks awesome

I agree to an extent. But making a GT look like a GT500 is retarded. Or doing it and then calling it a GT/SS is stupid to me.

Re: 2013 tail lights

^^^ Disagree, just makes me wish I had the 13 tail lights. The black and red would really compliment my current color scheme.

Yeah you do have that whole black and red theme going. They would look good. Maybe the aftermarket will get a hold of this and make replica tail lights that'll actually fit the '10-'12's.

Is there any way you can put the rear bumper and the tail lights from the 2013 on an 05-09?

I'm actually working with my local dealership to build a '13 taillights and GT500 bumper kit. Please PM me if you are interested, the more people interested the better chances I have of making it a reality.

I think that it doesn't matter how people set up there mustang. I believe that as long as the owner is happy when the end product then it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks. Personalization Is endless with our cars. And yes I would be very interested in the '13 tails!!
