I was also thinking about getting some stripes. My car's black and I'm thinking of getting bright green dual ones with pin stripes. I also want C-stripes, but I think I'll pass on those for quite some time yet.

What's the best way to find local shops to get/put the stripes on your vehicle? I live in Toledo, Oh. I'm sure that there are much more affordable places than the dealership for something like that.

You could ask people at shows or meets. Or go to some shops and ask them.

When i wanted stripes, i called around and they wanted an arm and a leg for the strip and to install. I was told it was about as cheap as to have them painted on. I was not sure what color I wanted for sure and didn't know what design.. I got on Ebay, found something i could deal with and picked a color. To me It really was not a difficult install. So for 40$ I tried it and fig. if I wanted to change colors before the permanent Idea this was only cost a little bit. Now I am actually happier, I like the look and I did it myself.

Hey Alerotaz,
Those stripes are beautiful. The purple color really sets off the black nicely. Job well done!

I did it myself too (blue car with white stripes on prior page). Its not that hard, but it can take A LOT of time (I spent around 16 hours in total doing my car). Unless you're doing a smaller job. I did rocker panel stripes too, and those only took me around 2 hours to install, and 15 minutes to remove later (its scary how easy they come off in direct sunlight).

Its worth knowing how to do it in case one of your stripes gets damaged and needs replacing. It would be much easier to be able to fix it yourself than have to go back to the stripe shop.

That said, I'll never install stripes myself again. My free time is better spent doing anything else.

I'll probably do it myself for the experience and to save me money. It'll give me something to do for a day anyway! I'm looking forward to the changes I want to do to this car!

Thanks for the compliment. Those are Shelby Razor Wheels. I think they look, well maybe not sexual, but they did turn me on when I first saw them.
