fuel milleage

ya i know it is a mustang and it has 400+HP and fuel mileage shouldn't be a worry driving a muscle car but that isn't what this question is about. just curious how many km's (im in canada) you get per tank? i know most of you are in the states so you can put it in miles as well. in the city i get about 350kms per tank on average. id like to see if that is the norm....thx all!

Usually @ 350 miles on a tank. With the small gas tank on the mustangs, they are definitely not long haul machines....

03 mach 1 est 350 crank hp, 440 km/ tank if I'm easy on her (mayb a 40-50 km variance for city only bc lethbridge is very traffic efficient). If I rip it in the city I can empty the tank in 300 pretty easily and on the track less than 180. If I babied it on the highway I bet I could get 480km/tank. But I just can't drive 100km/h all day... so boring

Re: fuel milleage

I use fuelly.com to track my fuel usage and right now my combined fuel usage is right at 23mpg. My best tank was almost 26mpg. Keep in my mind this is real world combined meaning all dyno time, all long idles, and all other less than fuel friendly activities included. oh and car is 2012 gt intake/exhaust/tune and stock 3.31s for now. Here is a link to my car so you can look at all the different stats on the fuel usage: Sally (Ford Mustang) | Fuelly

Its a BS reading. I reserved then coasted. Going by that reader when modified isn't accurate

I figured so. I'm not sure how accurate it is even when stock.

The only time I get over 300 miles per tank is when I'm exclusively on the highway. I usually average 17 mpg and only go about 230 miles before it starts dinging I have 50 miles to empty and I'm filling up again

The mpg display is to inaccurate to bother doing the math. How many KM'S or miles per tank is all that I care about. Ask wnt2gofst how accurate his 36mpg is lol

Your question is really only relevant to those answering with the same year models as you. I'm thinking those of us with older cars(diff body styles) will have diff tank sizes so total miles or kilometers will not be relevant.
That said I'll assume your only asking ppl w/ relevant yr model cars.

The 25 miles per gallon that I got on my trip was arrived at by keeping track of the miles I traveled and the amount of gas I put in the car. I took the miles traveled and divided by the gallons of gas I used and it came out to 25 mpg! When I say do the math I am saying take the number of gallons your tank holds and multiply by 25 and you will arrive at how many miles you can travel with a full tank! It's not that difficult, nothing against Canadians but this is not rocket science!!!!

If tou are only concerned with tank life then why don't you apply a liytle math to it... multiply mpg by the #of gallons in a tank and that will get you total mileage per tank... pretty simple.

by most of the answers given here, it seems as many people do not even bother reading the mpg reading the car calculates but instead sticks to the old fashioned way of math to figure out gas mileage .... seems like there is some pretty smart people on this forum bc that's really the only way it should be done

Fuelly will help eveyone out in keeping up with all different types of calculations when it comes to your mpg and miles per tank etc.

Drove 500 miles yesterday. Yes, all highway. The first leg I was in a hurry to get there, average 75 mph, got 21.5 mpg. The return leg, 60 mph with cruise set, 27.3 mpg. All calculations were fill up tank, divide miles traveled by fuel used. No AC on either leg.

That part is believable. My car will get close to that.

Part i was wondering about is 600 hp. Last i knew it was an upper only car

Thx tips lol, actually most people just use the mpg display and it is inaccurate so my doing the math is pointless.
