If he goes to the dealership and purchases an CAI from the dealership and have them install it would it still void the warranty?

Ford don't have a cold air. Some carry the roush that is completely worthless. They do have a tune with a procal. That will keep warranty but it sucks.

if you really care about warrenty go through th dealership and put on a roush supercharger setup roush will give you the 3/36 warrenty on the powertrain and a mild tune. Depending on the gears you have get some ford racing gears if your manual 3.55 to 4.10 and if your auto go 3.73 i think its best...these mods will set you back about 8000$ (including install) but you will be well modded and still have warrenty... You can also do many other ford racing mods through a dealership And maintain warrenty but i think the roush setup will be great while you have the warrenty and then after the warrenty is over get it dyno tuned, add a pully and maybe strengthen the internals

With a blower specially a roots style you don't want 3.73-4.10's on a manual. And not 3.73's on a auto. Manual guys are staying with really nothing more then 3.55's and most auto staying with the 3.15's. All because of way tranny is geared.

The roush is a great blower. But can be had for a lot cheaper then can get at the dealer. And still gets the roush warranty.

I would suggest buying and having it install but by a certified roush dealership because if warrenty issues arise its better if the one doing the fix installed the mods IMO. for the few hundred dollars i think its worth it...and i know of multiple roushcharged 5.0s autos that love the 3.73s if you font go there than stay at stock cause i dont think 3.55 would make it worth the money

---------- Post added at 08:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:57 PM ----------

and with the manuel he is most likely already at 3.55 to 3.73

---------- Post added at 08:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 PM ----------

So just stay stock at that point

If they are running 3.73's in an auto with a roush they are hurting them selves. 1st gear becomes almost useless. Even with very sticky tires. Also makes have to switch gears faster. Killing top end also in the end.

Yup, if you want to be sure about the roush warranty make sure you go to a roush specific dealer! Having a performance shop do it will cause you all kinda of trouble. Not saying trouble will happen but if it does you will be covered.

Sorry to hear about the injury dude! I have broke my leg 3 times and vet since the first time it's never been the same! Hopefully you heal better than I did. Did you break cleanly in 2? I don't dislike you or have anything against you I just don't share your views about tuning and racing thats all....

Hmmmm the roush supercharger doesn't sound like a bad idea at all! Just a little over 6k and they make one delivering 575 HP and 505 FT/LB of torque to the 2011-2013 Ford Mustang 5.0L 4v V8 powertrain, an increase of 155 HP and 115 FT/LB over stock Mustang.

---------- Post added at 08:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 AM ----------

I wonder if roush does payment plans...I got $$ but not 6k to just drop all at once lol

---------- Post added at 08:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:31 AM ----------

Btw....thank y'all for all the info and help guys, even the ones going back n forth with each other lol....so my next step is to call up roush and see what I can do then go from there

Wnt2gofst can answer that question for you. He has a Paxton sc installed on his car. Shelby only sponsors that sc on their site.

The paxton is a great blower. I love mine. I made over 600whp with a boss intake, and a dyno tune. This was threw a completely stock exhaust. Since I have change s few things. Like off road x pipe. Raised rpms for the boss intake. It now puts down over 640whp. Pretty safe tune as well. Great driveability.

I choose the paxton over the roush for a few reasons. Price, and power potential. The roush is good to about 700whp. The paxton is good to 1000whp.

They was the two choices for me.

The e force don't hold a candle to the roush, paxton, or Whipple. The Whipple is nice if you have money to go with one the bigger units. I put a lot of research before I bought a blower. The roush is the best pd blower for the money. The KB falls short. Even with all the claims they make for it. And so does the Whipple unless as said have one the bigger units. And the supporting mods for it. Procharger is nice but unless upgrade to a F1 still don't make the power a paxton will. Same for the vortech. Which paxton/vortech is made and owned by same people.

Look around and see what the fastest cars are running. What people are buying do to price/driveability/safety of blower, ie breaking crank snoute, ease of install, power potential as you want more.

My 2011 gt isn't a drag car nor do I have any interest in dragging. I have a 89 fox project car with a blown 408 that use to do drag duty but it ran to fast and I don't want a cage in it so it's done to.

I have two buddies with a 408 in their fox. Stroked out 351. One Turbo'd. E85 car. He is looking to sell it soon. It ran 11.2 on motor. Now has 250whp more. Last dyno with safe tune and only half timing made almost 700whp.

Other is selling his now. 5k. Already caged. Put down almost 500whp. Has ran low 11's as well. E85 high compression engine. N/a.

mine has the body fully restored with 10k in paint, 408 with a centri. ran a 10.23 on hoosier's and was booted from our local track until caged ( which it never will be). the original 302 motor is in the process of being built and fully restored and the 408 will be coming out and in goes the 302 and will sell. ill keep the 408 and either sell it to a friend or use it in another project. i have my mind set on a factory five build next....i love me a corba ever since my uncle built one when i was a kid.
