Clutch

I have been looking at clutches on AM and I read that it adds a raspy race car growl, I'm just curious as to how the clutch changes the sound of the car or is that just a typo ? I'm no mechanic but I do know a thing or two about these cars and iv never herd of that. I hope I'm not coming off as stupid lol but I'm just curious.
